There’s still a serious disconnect where people are frustrated we haven’t bought anyone in 18 months, but also complain whenever the idea of selling someone comes up. 
 

We aren’t going to be able to refresh the squad and add more depth just selling a couple castoffs and aging players. Plus we currently have too many players on the wrong side of the age profile most clubs are linking at. We have to consider selling anyone who is not a core player.

We need to learn when to sell, that goes for Howe as well. We've never been good at it, and if we're going to keep our star players, we need to sell those around the squad and take chances in cheaper markets. Brighton & Bournemouth have been buying the players we should have been in for, and they look really good for it as well.

You’d think this is where Mitchel comes into his own. Squad rotation and player sales is probably on Howe’s areas to improve.

Don’t seem to want to be the team that buys cheap abroad (like Brighton, Bournemouth) to also sell on for big profit after a couple of years.

Is McAtee still available from City? 
 

If we were to get 2-3 out this month. He could be a good signing. Perhaps not the elite player we all want at RW to take us to the next level. But covers a few positions, could come straight in and contribute due to having PL experience and would give us options wide and in midfield. A lefty, too. 

Going to need more of a squad to rely on and some blurred lines between staters and back ups. The drop off between our XI and bench players bar one or two is so noticeable and is actually becoming a bit of an issue. 
 

We have a lot of senior players. Plenty who are on decent contracts by our standards and I don’t think they are contributing.

I'd imagine the offers we've received for have been absurd, and rightfully he's not going to come out and say certain players are for sale, even if they are.

Which is interesting because the Cherries fans that were on here told us the exact opposite, that he was always ruthless in that regard.

 

I do think he is protective of having a reliable squad that understand his instructions, don't have egos out of control and can do a job. Squad depth is better but still an issue for us. I think he is very cautious, likely overly.

 

Mitchell has to provide replacements, we are looking at younger potential and we know Eddie takes a full year to bed those players in. It's a difficult balancing act.

Seems legit. I couldn't be arsed replying to the original bacause it's either complete horseshit or an opinion based on nothing 😂

To suggest Howe is "too loyal" to players one would have to know if any clubs were seriously in for them. Seeing as the players in question are routinely described as "shit", "deadwood" & "championship" it would come as no suprise if no one was in for any of them. Hell, even the superstar ASM only attracted the one bid 😜

Even if, and it's a big, fat, hypothetical IF clubs were after some of our squad and Howe didn't want to weaken it, that would be fair. I guess. Especially if he knew they wouldn't be replaced. 

3 blank windows would suggest that's pretty much how it's gone.
