mighty__mag
We should jump on board the Bradley Barcola interest if it's true PSG will look to sell. He's young, plays both wings or can operate as a striker option, and has champions league experience. If Mbuemo and Elanga both prove to be too expensive Barcola could prove to be superb business at rumoured 40-50m Edited June 3 by mighty__mag

gbandit
Given that we almost had him tied up at £25m - £30m was it? I don’t think he’s done anything to more than double his valuation. I think he is a good fit for us but I don’t think he’s worth over £50m. As always, I’d prefer for us to buy players who are less established so we don’t get rinsed and can only get one quality player in

It's mind-boggling. I don't understand how we can have such rich owners but can't buy as freely as other wealthy clubs. Because it's about club wealth, not owner wealth, and club wealth relates to revenue which certain clubs have managed to monopolise that market, some through a long tradition of being big clubs (Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal) and others through landing on the gravy train at the correct time (Man City, Chelsea, Spurs). These clubs pulled the ladder up on the likes of Newcastle and Villa.

STM
I'm a big fan of Joao Pedro, he's much more a support striker than an out and out number 9. He's physically capable of what Howe would want. He's played on the left and as a number 10, so he's versatile. His goal record is something like 1 in 3 but that doesn't include assists or his all round contribution to the team... ... most crucially he's 23 and we have one of the best coaches in the world who could turn him into a monster. Also if you think Joao Pedro is all about goalscoring or indeed that's what we should be looking at, then I don't agree. We need different profiles and different options. We might want to play 2 up front. We might want to play with a number 10. For example, Roberto Firmino was a 1 in 3 striker for Liverpool, played through the middle but his game was more than goals, he was the facilitator of the side. I'm not saying Joao Pedro is in that bracket but again, he's 23 and has tonnes to work with. 70m is too much though, I agree on that. Has he played there? He'd be more expensive than what we paid for Isak which is crazy to me. Howe must really rate him if we'd be willing to pay double the fee that we could have got him for mind Edited June 3 by nemtizz

There's a reason why we almost signed him before Isak became available. He's a cracking player, I was disappointed to lose out even though we got Isak instead. But I just can't see him coming here with Isak in front of him in the pecking order. Neither can I see us agreeing a fee which would make Brighton happy to sell him. We aren't paying £70m that's for sure.
