NUFC Transfer Rumours

Then why are you bringing PSR into it. My original post showed the incomings of all the teams that finished above us last year with us having none at this stage.

Because we can’t just hoy money at it willy nilly.

If we’d offered Mbeumo 350k a week he might have said he wanted to come here. Same with Pedro. But, apart from it being a stupid way to go on, PSR prevents us from doing that.

It hasn't been 7 weeks, though. Signing new players is very much like making love to a beautiful woman - you have to take your time. Make her feel special.

Of course it is but people going on like PSR is the reason for us being slow is laughable.

I’m gonna say it one last time because you haven’t been paying attention. The club got themselves in to PSR trouble and they are being careful that it doesn’t happen again. Forget our rivals they have no relevance to what we can and can’t spend.

We have a budget to spread across 5 or 6 players which means bidding and basically haggling for the best deal to therefor allocate money elsewhere. We could easily whack down £60m for Elanga which would leave us short elsewhere. It’s a game of patience. Also why does it always have to be on us? Stories have came out Forest changed the goal posts and wanted a sell on clause added in and also reports that Burnley have also moved the goal posts on the Trafford deal

lets also not forget we bid on Delep, Mbeumo & Pedro and they all chose to go elsewhere

Every other club has a budget as well. Some bigger than others but they’re all managing to sign people and improve their squad. I think we as a fanbase have forgotten how quickly things can move if we want them to. A bit of Stockholm syndrome maybe.

We could yeah but we need 4 or 5. Which means the money has to spread across those 4 or 5.

do you think we sold Anderson and Minteh for a laugh ? Or did we actually do what you are suggesting and overshot the budget which this time around are carefully managing so we don’t end up in that position

Ive no clue if your winding or not. Im not talking about last season. Im on about this season, the manager confirmed we are in a good PSR position. Im not suggesting anything, im just stating the fact that our rivals have done plenty of business while we have done nothing.

Nah you don’t get it do you.

Just because we have money doesn’t mean you just throw a load at the one player. They know we need 4 or 5 players they need to manage that money the best they can. It’s called budgeting and not a football phenomenon. They could throw £60m at Elanga £40m at Trafford but that then leaves us short for a forward & defender so then what do you suggest ?

you also completely ignore the reports of teams Like Forest and Burnley apparently changing the goal posts should we should agree to any old shit just to get a signing done?

I was hoping we get 2/3 players in by the time we face Celtic on the 19th of July. Thats Saturday next week.  that would also give them almost full month of pre season to get used to the team/tactics /Howe etc before PL kicks off.

Elanga would be nice addition if we can pull off.

I predict we’ll get Elanga and Trafford in by then. They’ll get done it’s just about getting the right deal

You have to wonder why clubs dont get all this sorted out before the window opens.  Or at least get the groundwork prepared.

It's like it's a surprise to them that they can suddenly buy players.

And I’ve tried to explain Man City & Chelsea not only had to do early business because of CWC they also have a much bigger PSR headroom because well, they are Man City. Chelsea have sold off their womens side,  their hotels and a couple of car parks - an income stream we don’t have.

Arsenal have signed Zubamendi a deal that was pretty much done in Jan & Norgaard on the cheap.

Chelsea btw signed two players we bid for and they chose Chelsea had they not there’s a fair chance we’d have signed them.

Liverpool have far bigger revenue streams and like us haven’t signed anyone for 3 windows giving them plenty and far more than us to spend

Man Utd have signed Cunha but they’ve also spent the last 2 weeks haggling with Brentford over £3m

Spurs basically made the Tel signing permanent.

Villa have signed no one yet

Sunderland & Burnley have spent but in a completely different market to us all players under £35m and none of them would get in our side.

yes we’ve not signed anyone yet but we are hardly miles behind

Its you that doesnt get it lad. Ive never said throw all the money at one player lmao. The club would have a list of players before the window. They would make certain players for certain positions priority. If they cant get Elanga done and Trafford done for the price they want then move on to the next target. Why does it take weeks to find out. The problem isnt PSR this window its incompetence by the club to get transfers done.

Every transfer is done by negotiating. If they can some how save £5m on Elanga to put elsewhere then why wouldn’t they? Also once again you are ignoring the recent stories that the deal was pretty much done before Forest decided they should have a sell on % should we just accept that

negotiations on transfers have been for decades but of course your way is the way to go

btw if we had done what you suggested bid and move on we probably wouldn’t have signed Isak? Brilliant

Some right impatient cunts on here. Want everything done by June 1st. Piss your knickers if we're in a worse position when the window closes, but calm down for now.

Not many people know what's going on behind the scenes. I'm sure the same folk wanted Howe out last season

Aye, what kind of cunt would say we need to get things sorted quickly?

Wanting a first team signing before pre-season starts isn’t an unreasonable ask!

I’d imagine most clubs know where they are PSR wise and an extra 5M here or there will ruin their wider strategy.

They won’t. A lot of it will depend on prize money. Finishing top 8 in the CL and getting to the semis gets you a lot more money than crashing out in the group stage. £1m per win.  And bigger money for qualifying for next stages. Similar thing in the PL, 4th to 7th is worth a fair amount in prize money alone.

And then there’s gates which might run £500k a game extra for CL and later rounds of domestic cups.

Which premier league clubs have signed players this summer?

We can't sell if no one wants to buy.

They would have buyers, just we can’t keep turning down low offers when they offer nothing moving forward.

Target for say £3m-£5m and Longstaff for £10m-£15m should be the range we look at. Asking for more than that is just never going to see a sale.

Willock I would say is £15m-£20m due to a bit longer on contract, but that’s being ambitious so £10m-£15m probably more realistic.

No, it absolutely isn't, but there's no need for people physically shit their pants over it
