Fond memories of an ageing Dejan Stankovic volleying one in from the halfway line for Inter Vs. Schalke.

Would have thought a street baller like Cherki would have been you preferred type.

Cant wait to watch Cherki regularly. So interesting how he develops under Pep. And scary.

As Newcastle fans - I think it’s in our DNA to like the flawed genius type. That’s usually the best type of player we can get.  Or a baller with not enough legs to make it to the very top ala Cabaye or Solano.

All this super professional, all round great players we have now.  It’s a weird experience.

The way Isak takes the ball with his left foot in stride, shifts it perfectly to the right in one smooth motion, strikes it clean and hard into the corner. That’s a baller. Pure footballing ability.

Top quality moment and match.

An unreal skill to have. Tne more we can get the ball to his feet while hes running onto it similarly, will be close enough undefendable with the speed he performs and thinks.

Ah come on get some signings around him and lets get this CL season started!

All this time I thought College Dropout and Kaka were both African/Nigerians from London

TCD is Ghanaian IIRC.  Doesn't matter anyway, watching him take Kaka apart time after time is one of the forum's most magical things.

Can we only make new player threads when the player is actually holding up the shirt in a official photo. Thanks [emoji38]

I mostly ignore them until we get something concrete. Not even bothering with the Scalvini link just yet, that one is just tempting fate to kick us in balls.

The DCL one I made an exception for because he sort of makes sense as it gives us much needed striker back up while keeping our big funds for other areas.

Shit's going down this week like. I can feel it in me loins.

Hope you're right because its starting to get a little bit desperate now with pre season starting and pre season games coming up.

We absolutely have to sign a backup striker now don’t we?

Think it all depends on where Howe sees Osula. If it’s at striker then I don’t think we will if we sign a CM/CAM that can operate up front too (like Pedro), on top of Elanga. That’s players that can play upfront (with Gordon too). Whilst not ideal, it’s taking burden off Isak still because it’s going to be hard to entice an actual number 9 here when they will clearly be 2nd choice for every game going.

I do seriously want us to make some signings this week now club is back to training. If we don’t have key arrivals heading to Austria / joining in Austria, we’ve fucked up big time and I won’t hear otherwise.
