NUFC Transfer Rumours

Again it’s a different market of player. We could easily have bought 3 or 4 £20m players so please you but they wouldn’t improve us. We are shopping in a higher market which costs more which has more impact on our PSR. I’m not quite sure what you don’t understand about that

They certainly would improve our squad, which is what we need. Our first XI is among the very best.

Our main targets are keeper, winger & centre half all for the first team. I’m not convinced any of those players Sunderland signed were better than anything we’ve already got or will sign

Yeah because you're wanting to pretend that PSR isn't an issue.

“Regular success, consistent success, all these things help you in the journey that you’re on to show to everybody that that’s where the club’s ambition is,” Howe said when quizzed over United's ambitions at Friday morning's press conference.

“There’s no doubt that’s what the club’s ambition is. But of course, as we’ve said many times, the ability financially to compete (over) the last few years has been hampered by PSR, but those issues aren’t there for the coming window. So I don’t see any reason why we can’t strengthen, not weaken ourselves.”

That doesn't mean we can spend what we want man. And the window isn't closed so still plenty of time to strengthen. Stop being a wet wipe and give your head a shake.

We did seem to be better at making deals happen and convincing players to really want to join the 'project' when Staveley and Howe were involved in transfers than nowadays.
