RW is sorted.

If we get a CB, that's the transfer window done for me.

We all know it’s only a matter of time before Joelinton gets injured. With the extra UCL matches and Longstaff gone, I think signing a central midfielder is a must.

Miley needs 40 games to see if he's good enough.

My ideal remaining signings will be

CB - One of Scalvini/Silva/Diomande

GK - Trafford

AM - one of Paz/Uche/Fernandes/Eliesse Ben Seghir unless we sell both Longstaff and Willock.

A few U19 players for the future.

That's it I think. I don't think with these players avove we will need a No9. It will be very hard to attract a quality FW who isn't versatile but with Paz or Uche they can play up top with Gordon/Barnes and Elanga as a 3 without Isak and still be a goal threat

Sorry but that would be mental. Still need a striker/attacker, and now CM becomes even more vital.

Chance we go in for McAtee for the CAM role if there’s a deal to be had around £20m? Not a Howe player on paper, but maybe he wants that different profile, and potentially ending up £8m+ over Longstaff is a reasonable deal?

I’m not sold on McAtee because I think he’s very raw still for his age, but got enough experience for Howe to trust early on and mould into the midfielder he wants.

Trafford, Scalvini, Elanga, Dibling, DCL and I’m a happy man.

Miley and Willock as the only options backing up a 3 man midfield? I've said it before but a quality CM is as important as a back up forward for us. It would be neglectful not to prioritise bringing one in.

We need to be able to move to a 2 man midfield rather than rigidly staying in a 3. A number 10 of the Dibling ilk would give us that flexibility.

Not sure about that, think the 3 man midfield will persist as the primary formation, meaning we need at least one, probably two better quality options with Willock's injury record and poor form. Not really seen any evidence in Eddie Howe's managerial career that he likes to play with a traditional '10'.

Newcastle line up Orkun Kokcu bid as Benfica midfielder asks to leave amid feud with coach Bruno Lage - but Turkish teams lining up for ex-Feyenoord star

Orkun Kokcu could be heading to the Premier League as Newcastle eye a move for the Turkish midfielder after a fallout with Benfica manager Bruno Lage.

Kokcu's future at Benfica has come into question after a heated argument with the head coach. The midfielder reacted angrily when subbed off during a Club World Cup match against Auckland City, throwing a tantrum on the sidelines. Now, according to O Jogo, that moment may now trigger his exit, with Newcastle monitoring the situation closely.

The Eagles are looking to recoup around €40m (£34m/$46m) for Kokcu. Newcastle could afford the deal and see Kokcu as a potential midfield boost. Several top European clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United, Roma, Inter, AC Milan and Tottenham. Turkish clubs Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas are all said to be pushing to sign him already.

The 24-year-old scored 12 goals and registered 11 assists for Benfica last season, his most productive campaign yet. That includes four penalties, showcasing his added responsibilities since moving from Feyenoord.

The Magpies are expected to make a formal bid soon and Kokcu is said to prefer a move to England. Benfica want a permanent deal, not a loan, and Feyenoord stand to receive 25 per cent of any capital gains.

Terrible source in goal.com but has been picked up from O Jogo in Portugal. https://www.ojogo.pt/1218412056/newcastle-esta-muito-interessado-e-pode-avancar-por-kokcu/

Perhaps not a traditional 10, but he played Josh King behind Callum Wilson at Bournemouth

Theyve asked for 35m + ridiculous share of next sale + first refusal apparently

Just Isak and Osula upfront yeah?

No.

Remember when Allardyce played Chris Samba up front for Blackburn? We could try that with Schar. Good with both feet, good in the air and has a strike on him.
