God that Isak 'update' is depressing, even for me. Does feel like we need an exceptional season e.g. title contention for 2/3rds of season + another trophy, to hold on to him. But please for the love of god not to a cartel club.

Its not an update really, he hasn't updated anything. He's basically just gave his opinion. Which we all do on here everyday, thats no different to what he he's just done there on Isak.

Also, he doesn't say anything we don't know really. We likely get 1 more season of Isak. He'll get a bumper new contract and go next season when we'll get a world record fee.

British record sure, but not Neymar to PSG money

Watkins seems incredibly unlikely.

Presumably a very hefty fee and associated wages, and didn’t particularly seem overly happy to share responsibilities with Duran when he was the A side of that, so surely would be even less happy when he’s the B side with Isak?

Wissa, still seems unlikely, but the more I think about it, not completely so.

Realistically, his only chance of CL football (whilst staying in the PL) is to come as backup somewhere. On low wages at Brentford, so offering a significant raise wouldn’t be a problem. Is he definitely coming to last year of his contract, or did I read somewhere Brentford had a years option so it was effectively two years left?

If it is one, it’s definitely worth exploring, as he’s far better than I thought we could get/afford for that role.

Wissa for under £30m would be a no-brainer.

I Must have been asleep when Forrest tried last year with a 22m bid.

He's 29 in September could in theory give us 3 to 5 good years but could fall off a cliff as he gets older. Hard to put a value on him maybe 30/35 is reasonable?

Imagine you're tired, absolutely shattered, you're a goal down and have had to deal with Isak, Murphy and Gordon tormenting your backline for 70 minutes. You're a greasy Spaniard and idolise the high line. Barnes, Wissa and Elanga come on.

Reading the Brentford forum they don’t seem to think they would sell him (for a sensible fee) as well as Mbeumo. They might well be right. Already lost their manager, captain, keeper, (arguably) best player (if it goes through, so I doubt they feel inclined to chuck their top scorer in there too.

Turned down £18m+£4m from Forest in January, so it probably takes a fair bit more than that, even with the contract situation.

Apparently Brentford owner has said they'll not sell Mbuemo AND Wissa in the same window.

Obviously money talks but I think it would be a tough deal to do

Get a bid in for Wissa now, give them what they want, say “have this and you don’t have to sell Mbuemo”, think that might tempt them.

Would be somewhat hilarious if we nipped in and signed Wissa, prompting them to tell Man Utd Mbeumo was no longer for sale…

Why are we so hard on for throwing money at Wissa? Like say it’s £35m+ for a 29 year old as season starts :D It’s absolutely not us. Would be totally awful deal considering we have priorities elsewhere and a 2nd/3rd choice striker can be obtained for a hell lot less.
