NUFC Transfer Rumours

What types of strikers are Openda and Sesko respectively?

Sesko is a massive physical presence so comes with all of the upsides height and strength bring you, yet with really good acceleration making him good on transitions. He also has a ridiculous shot, rare power and technique. However he can look a bit haphazard and clunky at times on the turn and certainly doesn't have the feet and elegance of Isak.

Openda resembles the kind of striker who is also suited to playing on the wing, relatively small but really quick. Again a good transitional player and a fit for us in that respect, but imo we need the option of the physical presence of a Sesko type if we're bringing in Wissa too.

Season prep is out the window. Tour of the far and not one striker on it. Imagine any of the other big 6 or 7 getting into that position? The club have some serious questions to answer.

The tour is more marketing than season prep, but I take the point.

And there is nobody to answer these questions with any power.

We have had a departing CEO for the best part of a year and there is nobody within the ownership group that acts in any sort of executive capacity.

Throw in the lack of Sporting Director and EH becomes the defacto voice of the club's strategic vision, which is not his job.

Can we fly Wissa out to join the squad if he signs?

Depends how quick we get him signed. By weekend starts, might as well. Drags into early next week, no point.

Better (and same for any signings) getting them on a fast track individual training regime to get their fitness right up there for when the team comes back. Little point flying 12+ hours to play one game (which may not even be that) to then fly back, unless club really valued the bonding with the team on the flight back.

Trafford
Tino Scalvini/Guehi Botman Hall
Tonali Bruno
Elanga Simons Gordon
Sesko

Pope

Trippier Schar Burn Targett
Joelinton Gallagher Miley
Murphy Wissa Barnes

Ruddy, Lascelles, Krafth, Willock, Osula

Not a bad first and second XI

more rounded.

Currently, we have Isak and Tonali and perhaps Bruno head and shoulders above everyone else.
The above raises the overall quality of the team as a whole

We aren't getting Simons, he's off to Chelsea.
