I agree, sell Elvis Presley and buy The Beatles. Knowing us we'll sell Elvis Presley and buy Elvis Costello on deadline day.

Sesko, Scalvini and Simons - top tier replacements which increases the ceiling and gives us more than Isak gives on his own. 
Wissa and Gallagher - good solid pros for depth
Ideally Trafford too. 

 

That would actually leave us net positive and ready for CL.

We can only work on one transfer at a time. We’re currently courting Wissa. We can’t even begin to think about signing any other players yet.

Our incoming activity so far is still the biggest thing fucking me off in all of this drama. Not saying Isak wouldn't be agitating to leave if we'd signed more players but being so shit at doing deals won't have helped. If we turn around at the end of the summer and say there was nobody else left or available in our 'small pool' then it'd be an absolute joke.

We aint getting Simmons now unfortunately.

 

The other 5 + Elanga puts us in a much better position overall than at the end of last season, but we've lost someone who is capable of a bit of magic to turn a game which Sesko and Elanga would have to bring to the table

We started buying Guehi last year and it still hasn't gone through, we now have less people in place to do deals so nothing will happen fast

The thing is that is all very possible assuming we sold Isak swiftly and a well thought out list of players that would clearly improve us - I don’t trust the current people in charge to pull something like this off though.

True. I was very confident at the start of the window, but we are in such a mess now I cant believe it.
