NUFC Transfer Rumours

Might be a canny idea under those conditions of having to sit indoors to order a book you've had your eye on or something, at least if that becomes engaging or gripping enough it may have some sway over being absorbed into the updates which are in fact non-updates for the most part and just pollute our mental space.

I'm really optimistic about the new season. A new owner with ambition, a new manager that was wanted by much bigger clubs, a club record 6 figure fee from our new shirt sponsors and a reasonable chance at the play-offs if not promotion.........sorry wrong team:footy:.

I'm optimistic about NUFC as well. We signed no cunt last season and won a cup and qualified for the CL.

We need some signings and we will get players in. I'm getting bored of reading the forum tbh.

We might lose Isak. We might sign Sesko. We might sign Wissa. We might sign Scalvini. Fuck knows what will happen.

I'll tell you what though. I fucking love Eddie Howe, we will sign more players and have a crack at it again.

Unless we have a miracle couple of weeks in the transfer market there is no chance we will get close to last season - especially if Isak goes. We are in more competitions and have a weaker squad. Add to that all the top 4 clubs have spent hundreds of millions strengthening.

That's what everyone said last summer.  I'm not saying you are wrong but the window isn't finished.

If Sesko is Man United bound time to move on to..

Top targets

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Victor Osimhen: (Has he signed for Gala yet?)

Samu Aghehowa: Probably one of best other young strikers

Victor Boniface: Leverkusen were going to sell him in Jan

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Good options for 2nd striker

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nicolas Jackson: Chelsea want him sold, £50M would do it.

Loïs Openda: Might be tough if they are already selling Sesko.

Moise Kean: He's improved, but how much?

Darwin Nunez: He's availiable, I still believe there's a player there.

Gabriel Jesus: Worth a punt on a cheap?

Christopher Nkunku: He's for sale..

Dušan Vlahović: Juventus want him out before his contract runs out.

Yoane Wissa: Will Brentford play ball?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Bottom line.. no need to panic, there's still plenty of strikers availiable and on the market. It wont be Sesko or nothing...

its brutal to see club above us in PL in terms of PSR advantage how many flops they can get away with.

Mudryk 75m, Nkunku 60m, Joao Felix 50m, Sancho 75m, Antony 80m, Hojlund 70m, Darwin Nunez 75m etc

no problem Ekitike, Isak can come in, Cunha, Mbuemo, Sesko can come in, Bynoe Gittens, Pedro Neto, Delap, Joao Pedro etc all can come in

+ being able to afford much higher salaries too.

while I feel if our recruitment were not as fantastic as it was with likes of Gordon, Livramento, Hall, Guimaraes, Botman, Isak etc we would struggle for 3/4 windows to set it right...

I feel Howe has to be partially blamed for this atrocious window.

This is the result in modern times when the manager wants control over recruitment process causing alot of problems in the backroom. He also has his nephew in charge of recruitment.

Wonder how long it work for take to sort out the recruitment team and what goes on in the back end. It's a mess at the moment.

How do you propose we sort this out? We are in a bit of a bind.

I highly doubt that Howe is pleased with not having a CEO or DoF.

He wants control over who we buy like and that obviously wasn't what Mitchell agreed to.

Maybe the lad from forest will be more accommodating.

I suspect that he would have even preferred Mitchell around doing his job than this shit storm that we currently appear to be in. Even if he shares a portion of the blame, he will likely realize that at this point. He doesn’t strike me as the hubris type of guy.

At this point, it should be clear that he’s a very astute guy. Even if he was glad to see the back of Mitchell, this is bordering on worst case scenario.

Should just buy bellis from Southampton he's high on that passing list aswell.

We might have but I don’t know whether he’s fit. He got ruined and stretchered off in the last game of the season IIRC.

Of course he would have preferred Mitchell to do his bidding but Mitchell would have been silly to do so.

Not to knock the gaffa but he has his hands all over this imo. Can't really cry about a situation you have your hands in where the outcome was utterly predictable

The idea that Howe refuses to work with a DOF just because he, like everyone else, despised Mitchell’s egotistical and needlessly confrontational approach is utter nonsense.

He hasn’t cried about it at all. And if he is at fault, once again he seems more self reflective than most managers

Your missing the point. Howe doesn't refuse to work with a dof that's not the question. The question is Howe wants control over who is bought and sold.

It's more are you willing to give him that or not.
