He hasn’t cried about it at all. And if he is at fault, once again he seems more self reflective than most managers

Absolutely he hasn't us fans have been doing that instead.

I highly doubt that Howe is pleased with not having a CEO or DoF.

Yeah, no-one doesn't want to work with people who make their life easier.

He'll just want someone to work with who's on the same page as him as isn't a knob.

Not saying Mitchell was a knob, don't know him. But it does seem likely at this stage that they didn't gel!

Your missing the point. Howe doesn't refuse to work with a dof that's not the question. The question is Howe wants control over who is bought and sold.

It's more are you willing to give him that or not.

Most top managers expect to have a say in recruitment. It’s their tactics on display and their reputation at risk if things fall apart. I don’t think Howe is demanding total control; he’s earned the right to influence the structure around him though. He worked pretty effectively with Ashworth, which shows he’s more than capable of collaborating with a DOF, as long as it’s someone competent, reasonable and aligned with his vision.

Eddie should be identifying what he needs in terms of profile and then handing off to a top notch recruitment team. We've paid a heavy price last summer and this as we aren't flexible.

We were up against it PSR-wise last season so it’s not that simple. Even Howe would probably admit that with a top-level recruitment team around him, we’d be seeing far better results in the transfer window than we have recently.

Really need to find a way to disengage from all this like, it's just absolutely fucking miserable.

Wouldn't mind if I had other stuff to do but most of my time at the moment means I'm basically strapped to a seat indoors, looking after a baby and with nowt much else to do but be on here.

Enjoy the stage your baby is at; if very young get yourself/him/her a helium balloon and a peacock feather. Balloon good for perceptual motor skills (tie to ankle good fun for very young babies to learn cause and effect and learn to kick—pension plan!). Put peacock feather under your armpit when changing nappies your little one will love watching it. Marvel in their enjoyment. Oh! And buy it a rugby top or any other sport to protect from the lifetime of ‘blessings’ that come from supporting this shit show.

We're gonna have a serious problem next year aswell when likes of Trippier , Burn, Schar are even older. We can't keep playing them forever and eventually need to find proper replacements. We have tried and failed to get Schar's long term replacement for two years now.

Even if Botman can eventually stay fit and Livramento doesn't get poached by City. We will still need back ups for them.

We need 5 players now. We'll need 10 next year. Not optimistic at all.

Not a rumour as such but I can’t shake the feeling that Jack Grealish might be an option and end up here before the end of the window. Albeit on loan. There’s no way we will even think about paying what he’s on at the moment.

If ever a player needed an Eddie style rehabilitation it’s this lad

Not sure we need another wide player but if he's capable of playing in front of the middle two then I'd absolutely take him for a year.

6 goalkeepers and 5 midfielders might be a problem going into the new season

This is where Howe's recent quotes about 'right player, right place' really worry me going into the final month. If we can't sign from the 'small pool', unless our plan is to throw away some of the comps, we're going to put our players at real risk of fatigue & injury. At some point, we might just have to accept bodies in the squad to protect our best players as a bare minimum.

Definitely gives us options as well as getting us that trophy style signing that alleviates some pressure from the club. At this stage it’s well worth the gamble for a loan.

I'm also not sure why we haven't bid for Guehi, Botman wont last the season and Guehi should be cheaper

Big Fab suggesting that young players don't want to join us as we're reluctant sellers in the event they want to leave. Can almost hear Isak's agent speaking through him.

Fuck right off. Look at Elanga.
