NUFC Transfer Rumours

How come we were able to attract the likes of Bruno and Trippier when we were in a relegation spot but struggle to get anyone when we've qualified for the Champions League following a trophy win?

Because some players have a big heart, pride and are up for a challenge.
And some want the easy life in an established squad and a big pay cheque.
That’s my take on it.

If we can't get top level raising first team signings we've surely got to pivot at some point to getting in some potential younger players that are more punts. We are going to need the additional numbers in defence, midfield and forward to be able to get through the season.

This is why I wouldn't be mad at Thiaw or Guessand type signings. Relatively low fees, potential is there and we can always move them on if it doesn't work out.

Every time I see Milan fans discuss Thiaw they say he's their CB with the highest potential, but that for whatever reason the coaches they've had haven't worked it out properly for him. Eddie would definitely be able to get him firing if he came here.

We create lots of chances. Any decent striker could get 20 goals a season with the amount of opportunities they will get. Get two  decent strikers and we will be alreet. We’re over thinking this.

That's some pretty serious underrating of Isak's finishing ability like. He might have other weaknesses but he's pretty deadly in front of goal. That's why replacing him is not going to be easy if we do sell.

Also his ability to occupy and control 2 CB's at a time and his intelligence when moving across the line. He has the 2 Arsenal CB's on toast in a way that nobody has before, not even Haaland.

Its simple, don't sell and promise he can leave next year for an agreed fee as it had been all along.

I think he’s a bellend, but he could be correct there. Ambitious young players aren’t necessarily going to see us as their final destination. Eales talked about us needing to trade and how we’ve not sold anyone of value over a year ago. I kind of thought we’d almost be a Brighton for better players as we grow. Eventually you’d hope we’d be that final destination.

I think its also a fact that there are also about 3 clubs in the world who clubs see as their final destinations, its not a slight in anyway.

Players sign for Dortmund with the aim of signing for Real or Munich. Players go to Man City or Man Utd and dream to ending up at Real e.g. Ronaldo. How anybody can possibly think we are the end goal for a player currently and not a stepping stone is beyond me.

If they come and win a trophy or 2 we are still in the pecking order behind the big 10 teams in the world and that will be the case until a legacy is built up. For players this is a job with 18 years max to reach the pinnacle, its not like joining Apple and working your way up over 40 years.

Im content where we are. Big enough to attract names and grow the team whilst theyre grow as players. The more we grow the bigger the name and the longer they will stay. As Staveley said when she came in, its evolution not revolution.

Exactly this. I thought it was generally accepted amongst the fan base, and those who were ‘you can’t sell first team players’ were the outliers. Why are so many bothered about the sell on value of signings if they don’t expect us to ever sell them.

The club have never hidden the fact they need to start trading. Bruno had a release clause for example and they expected him to go, hence the PSR mess last summer.

It’s not meant to be. He’s pretty fucking irreplaceable. I ain’t stupid, him being brilliant and my point aren’t mutually exclusive. But since we’re not going to get anyone as good then we have to be realistic about what the options are and I’m quite optimistic that two decent players will get plenty of goals given how many chances they’ll get.

Absolutely. There's a reason Liverpool are trying to sign him, he's one of the few strikers in the world who has made a mug of their superstar gold standard CB Van Dyke. He destroys the best defenders.

Agree. But we want our money which is due, and that isn't £120m. Pay up or fuck off Liverpool.

So now we are a hostage club [emoji38]. I get that we are not the final destination for many players, but dont sign a 6 year contract then if you are so scared. This transfer window ffs. Guess Trent Arnold was so scared he had to run down his contract to get his dream move.

Must say, while Romano is clearly connected, this window has done a lot of damage to his reputation.

He's incredibly transparent in communicating on behalf of agents and it made me suspicious of any Sesko deal before it'd even begun.

Ornstein is going the same way too.
