I mean the excitement people have of keeping him and adding one more meaning were in for an exciting season.

I think there is still a strong chance he doesn't ay at all or doesn't play til atleast October and when he finally does I think he will phone it in.

It could go that way, but I think he'll want to be scoring goals again once he's over it, being shit for a season won't do his reputation much good.

I'd go and sign Ramos for 60m or whatever and call it a day.

Heard somewhere that he doesn't want to move to Newcastle, although how good that info is I don't know.

The issue is you can't really do the thing where you put two strikers output together while they are first choice for their respective clubs and say you're better off now because you have two good options instead of one great one.

They won't both be playing at the same time and will probably have less minutes so the environment is totally different.

As the old saying goes there's only 11 players on the pitch at any one time so while having two 15 a season strikers instead of one 25 a season striker is in theory better.

In reality it doesn't really work out like that.

It's not just about output, although that is important as it shows they can perform in the league.

I'd much rather have two good Premier League strikers that are now going to be playing in a better team than they were before, and so could actually perform even better, and each of whom bring different things to the table.

Can make a selection on who starts based on different tactical plans and approaches to certain games, depending on the opposition, and can also pair them together in certain instances.

I know the athletic are usually pretty good but has Chris actually been reliable this summer ? Can’t remember him being first on any of our deals

I don’t think being a newsbreaker is really his primary job. Also, he alluded on his pod that he’s very limited in what rumors he can publish because The Athletic has to comply with the NYT’s extremely strict editorial rules.

Oh I know Kaka I'm just saying in a long winded way that having two good strikers isn't necessarily better than one great one and fk all else.

I get the situation though, so needs must.

Getting two confirmed sources is probably a lot easier for someone on the national beat like Orenstein. Local journos will have good connections at the club, but may struggle to get a second source on much of what they hear.

Totally prefer a loan now anyway. Even with a known quantity like Wissa the price isn't sitting well. A 10-12m loan for Jackson would do me.

Think that loan comes with an obligation to buy though. They want rid. Its just a different structured sale.

Still think Wissa would be the closest we'll get to an Isak replacement, even though he's meant to be Wilson's. Think he's underrated just due to his age. But 29 is prime for a striker, he'd be great for a couple of seasons.

Seems pointless releasing articles saying we’re not close to anyone when they can’t release full information to be honest

Not as strict at they like to claim in some areas. They continued to stand by Hamas weaponizing sexual violence story, despite the dodgy hasbara-linked person who wrote it, and that it was largely evidence free, and with seriously conflicting accounts.

Maybe in some areas like sports, yeah, they keep to strict editorial standards. But when it comes to global news, NYT has a largely disappointing track record in having strict editorial standards that would surely have challenged U.S. foreign policy (Iraq war as an example).

£75M for Kane.

Just get it done.

For that money, I’d rather just take the gamble on Samu or as someone else has said, throw something at Ramos and see if it comes off.
