54 Posted Monday at 09:19 Share Posted Monday at 09:19 Thats a bit shit for him, would have thought he'd have been given a chance at least in one of these two games. Good for us mind, as it means he gets a decent period of rest, while still training.
Cf Posted Monday at 09:56 Share Posted Monday at 09:56 Any reason given? Following his performance in the final and the fact Walker was seemingly the best we could come up with it seems a really odd decision. As 54 says though good for us so no complaints on that front. Tuchel picked a squad of 26, and for World Cup qualifiers you can only have a squad of 23. Morgan Gibbs White, Aaron Ramsdale and Jarrel Quansah missed out against Albania. This time its Gordon, Ramsdale and Tino missing out.
Turnbull2000 Posted Monday at 10:15 Share Posted Monday at 10:15 Damn, that's a pity. Other than Burn, a pretty shoddy week for our England contingent. Lewis Hall looked nailed on for England's left back, but Arsenal's Myles Lewis-Skelly is now taking his chances to make it his own.
TheBrownBottle Posted Monday at 10:20 Share Posted Monday at 10:20 Livramento was my MOTM in the LC Final, but I wouldn't have picked him for England either - his form was poor prior to that game. Keep putting in performances like last week and he'll back in - which more importantly would mean he's playing well for us.

AJ9 Posted Monday at 10:48 Share Posted Monday at 10:48 I think it’s fair tbh. He is unlikely to start ahead oh Walker (though I personally disagree) or James. Up until the final, he had a pretty poor season overall

Gonna be interesting to see those 2 battle it out for the starting spot.

STM Posted Monday at 15:39 Share Posted Monday at 15:39 I understand it, RB is a stacked area. I can understand people not thinking Burn is good enough for England too But tell me that MLS is better than Lewis Hall and I'll savagely pummel you. The College Dropout Posted Monday at 15:54 Share Posted Monday at 15:54 MLS is the real deal but Hall is more developed imo. Tuchel is taking a proper 16-month view of the England squad maybe even shorter. Kyle Walker will be 36 at the World Cup. Take him out.
GideonShandy Posted Monday at 17:02 Share Posted Monday at 17:02 Tino's ability to play on either side should give him an advantage for selection for a month-long World Cup, as opposed to a one-off game.

All well and good the inverted roll if that’s what’s required, but as soon as we’re against a side that will attack the wings, he can’t be playing. He’s a CM long term IMO. Neither was Hall at 18 really. I think both have tremendously high ceilings.
Teslact Posted yesterday at 02:47 Share Posted yesterday at 02:47 "An Ode To Tino" by Mo Valentino, Livramento, You're lifting the Carabao Cup While I lie teary on the hallowed turf And come to think of it I tried to have you misled My goals, my assists, my everything And wanting to get in your head I never got a kick anyway No, you didn't let me have a shot anyway You pocketed me all game anyway I'm so happy we're not playing you again Yeah, I am

He wasn’t, difference being though, Hall now plays there and MLS doesn’t. Just like Rico Lewis, that inverted role is nothing like a LB defensively so it does not help a player become a full back.
