magvicar
Lewis Hall will be top notch. I have absolutely no doubt about him. It's just a matter of time. A short time.

It's the closest he's come to public criticism, to be honest.

He's been pressed in to use early and Eddie to just wants to let him develop. Also remember it's Eddie responding to questions he's asked.

It's more just the platitudes that Howe hasn't been saying that he generally has about other players, including kids, in similar situations. So pleased to hear him getting some phatic treatment. Minhosa
Hypothetically, and I'm not trying to mischief make here, but imagine you're Eddie Howe and it's the last game of the season. Hall is currently a loan with an obligation after x appearances, let's say he's one game away from that deal being activated, and the game is dead rubber. Bearing in mind, he's a £30m fee for next summer and you've only got a budget of say £70m for next season. Do you play him and tie up the budget or leave him out to free up the funds for next summer? He returns to Chelsea. I'm interested in what people would choose. FWIW - I'd play him and commit to the spend based more on how successful our recruitment team have been with pretty much everybody else perhaps rather than having been blown away by the initial impact of Hall. Also considering he's still very young and english. Edited December 4, 2023 by Minhosa

There's others in the squad who are more likely to be moved on to make room in my opinion.
The Prophet
There was nothing about it being a conditional obligation, I assume it's just automatically made permanent in the summer.

r0cafella
Trigger it 100%. we need a left back, and he’s had a year working with the squad. He will only get better and we have the perfect set up now for young players to succeed.

Our recruitment has been consistently outstanding for a long time now. You could even say longer than merely since the takeover considering the performances we're getting out of players that were clearly being misused beforehand. He hasn't pulled up any trees yet, but he seems to be settling in socially and he's very young. I don't think he's looked bad, incidentally, just a bit overwhelmed - which Anthony Gordon said about himself about last season and look at him now. There's every likelihood it would be a big regret in two or three years, as Trippier sails off into the sunset, if we didn't 'buy' him now.
NSG
Keep him 100%. Think he’ll end up being excellent.
Unbelievable
In your hypothetical scenario we're going to get a lot more info on which to base any decision in the next couple of months. From what I've seen he looks the business and I'd have no qualms to see Howe use him more than he has, but Eddie knows best.
Mike
I might be crazy but I feel like he came into the squad with more anticipation than Tino, so I'd 1000 percent trigger it.
Tiresias
Honestly I just trust Howe's judgement at this point, if Howe thinks he's worth £30m i am sure he will do, he seems rated enough for that to be a bargain. He's done ok when i've seen him but not entirely sure he's a full back, he is technically great but hadn't yet got the defensive side figured out fully imo which I'm sure will come with time, but he looks a bit like a Zinchenko to me, i.e. a midfielder who can play there rather than a great left back. All this is very early to say, even if he wasn't young and still learning haven't seen enough to commit to a full opinion
TRon
Chelsea fans were gutted to see him go, and looking at the state of them now, I think we took advantage of them being a mess in the recruitment dept. Pretty sure Howe absolutely rates Hall and won't be letting him go back to Chelsea if he can help it.

Yeah I had read he thought of himself more as a midfielder was more coached into full back so can't take credit of picking that up purely from his playing. It may also be my bias to full backs that look to enjoy defending and bias against the blessed trent alexander arnold
