Whilst I understand you are being a clever shit.... Hes actually a monster physically, so he actually fits the profile of a CB. It actually proves my point, more than anything. Im not saying you cant play with an attacking fullback, but alot of managers prefer someone whos physically the profile of a CB, largely because the game has evolved into a boring set piece game. Ake, Akanji, Calafiori, Timber, White and so on. The trend can be bucked, but its alot easier to do if you can cherry pick your entire squad. STM Posted Tuesday at 15:49 Share Posted Tuesday at 15:49 Personally, i would try and find a RB who has the physical profile of a CB and allow Hall the freedom to get forward, however it was also likely require we had 2 holding players too.

Mate I'm really not trying to be a clever shit, he genuinely is a tremendous footballer. I actually had no issue him being picked ahead of Hall who I thought was a shoe-in for the England spot halfway through the season, but after watching Nico in action for Man City in a few games I had to grudgingly concede defeat. Ake ditto, fabulous player at one point, although he seems to have dropped off a bit this season. I think Khusanov is also in that class and it's kind of gutting that we had the deal more or less done but couldn't find the funds at the time and City moved in. I really hope we have got competent people in place to move smarter this summer.

He is a very talented player, I think he can be used as a wing midfielder or a left winger. In fact, that would probably be his real position. He is fast, he dribbles well and he has good shooting skills. He could be an attacker on the left in a 4-3-3 formation, or maybe in a 5-3-2 attacking formation starting from the back, but then Miley would have to take the right wing, in which case we would definitely need a defender and a striker, Hall could replace Gordon if necessary.Tonali, Ramsey, Bruno could be the three in the middle, and the two strikers could be Osula and Woltemade Edited Thursday at 08:35 by sanyi75

BergenMagpie Posted Thursday at 09:57 Share Posted Thursday at 09:57 Hall will be so much better offensively now that Gordon is gone. Can count on one hand the times Gordon used Hall on the overlap - always cut inside and shot straight into a defender. Must've been so frustrating

Used to boil my piss how often Hall would run into space on the overlap and Gordon would ignore him, cut in and inevitably it would come to nothing. Turnbull2000 Posted Thursday at 18:09 Share Posted Thursday at 18:09 (edited) If that's genuinely what he wants, they can have him for £70m, no less. It's not Howe's fault he missed out, so can do one if he's that pissed about it. Edited Thursday at 18:15 by Turnbull2000

Optimistic Nut Posted Thursday at 18:14 Share Posted Thursday at 18:14 I mean, the one thing Hall would really want to do to enhance his England chances, is fall out with the man who has a pretty high chance of being England manager when he's in his prime. The Prophet Posted Thursday at 18:16 Share Posted Thursday at 18:16 Just feels like another Manc mouthpiece doing his bit to unsettle a player they don't want to pay the going rate for. It's became a speciality under Ratcliffe.
