Newcastle United 1-3 Notts Forest (26/12/23)

It's going to get worse until it gets better. Unfortunately that means getting absolutely murdered by the Scouse cunts and defeat to the mackems is a strong possibility.

We will come back after the break and bounce back, but a lot of damage is going to be done.

Unfortunately this season is fucked, mainly because of luck with injuries and way too many games in a short space of time

It was odd because it was obvious that the way to get at us was down the flanks. We have 2 slow FBs. They did exactly that. We didn’t adjust or make any changes to protect ourselves. We just did what we did harder and that left more gaps.

Trips positioning has been suspect for a while. He’s often too far up the pitch and when we lose the ball he can’t recover his position.

Burn is just so slow. Was caught out easily.

Later our midfield shape disintegrated and NF just played through the middle of us without anyone within 10 yards of a player receiving the ball.

This wasn’t a bad day at the office. This is a systemic problem.

Love EH but he’s too loyal to the older players. If Hall had had a 1st half like Burn’s he’d have been hooked double quick.

Trips really needs some time away.

At the moment our identity is being tactically inflexible and pressing in a way that leaves bus lanes all over the pitch for the opposition to trundle down.

I don’t think we’ve reached our nadir yet either. I expect us to pick up form at some point. I also think EH should not fear for his job. Fresh look at the situation in the summer.

Needs some January reinforcements at the start of the window and the likes of Barnes, Murphy, Big and Little Joe, and Lascelles back asap. Might still be able to salvage something. Howe needs to be pragmatic, we’re not beating ‘pool in our current form. Keep it tight at the back, don’t overcommit in attack by flooding forward, retain possession, play for the draw.

It was absolutely shocking but worth remembering we'd won 7 in a row at home before this and it's only the third side to beat us at home in the league in nearly 2 years.

Whole team just looks like they need a month off.

Wood hattrick, you have to laugh

Ferk it, I'm going to work it out

Darwin Nunez: 2 goals in 13 mins vs. NUFC, 2 goals in 958 minutes vs everyone else

Ewan Ferguson: 3 goals in 81 mins vs. NUFC, 3 goals in 838 minutes vs everyone else

Richarlison: : 2 goals in 73 mins vs. NUFC, 3 goals in 700 minutes vs. everyone else

Chris Wood: 3 goals in 90 mins vs. NUFC, 4 goals in 549 minutes vs. everyone else

Wood is actually the most prolific, though mostly thanks to two against Luton.

There seems to be a pattern there of us struggling against the big man, the big man who other teams deal with comfortably.

Not really a revelation that our fanbase is full of babies. Same people who "supported the team, not the regime" no doubt.

The ones who kept going when we were shit during the Ashley years you mean?

Got a sense that we were almost trying to manage and coast that after going ahead, which is usually the opposite of what we do albeit that's what may have lead to our injury woes.

Part just a defeat, they were  robbing a point at half-time - but definitely part performances all round being way off. The goals were suddenly shipping being the major problem.
