Yes but that is based on a handful of performances. Just not enough games to write anyone off IMO.

But he was never going to be a first team player. 3rd choice LCB, 3rd choice LB. Not some player with potential, he was what you see, what you get. And that was average at best.

Feels like Mitchell is stepping in and selling anyone who isn't playing. Eddie will want to have kept him, plus several other players not good enough, but Mitchell is clearing the decks to move forward in the summer.

That’s what I feel as well - it’s the best we can do without selling our purple players as we can’t give the rest away so I’m pleased with this to be honest.

Yes, like I said it was a very canny bit of business getting him on a free. Fans can rate him on the back of 3 starts or whatever it was for us, but our recruitment team's judgemnent has proved spot on.

Phenomenal bit of business by itself but within the larger context of keeping a level of competitive squad depth it's concerning. I suppose you have to do a deal like this if it presents itself.

Feels like we're missing a few chapters of the book though. Hope we start to see them soon. As of now it's all a bit irritating to see outgoings and no incomings.

If Howe thought differently he'd be staying

Anyway, my comment was based entirely on his performances that we have seen, hence "in terms of impact on the pitch".

Is it possible this guy could be really good and we just haven't gave him enough game time, Howe chased him for ages, I hope getting rid is not a Mitchell decision, that could cause friction that we don't need a few days before the semi

I thought the decision to bring him on Saturday was strange given we were chasing the game.

I wonder if it was a message to Mitchell that he still has an important part to play.

Or a message to Juve to pay up or he stays?

Or more likely no message to anyone.

Alternatively, it may have been to signal to Juventus that we didn't need to sell and he still had a part to play, if their bid didn't match our value.
