I’d rather we paid the money for Trafford and then went abroad to look for our outfield targets.

Joelinton7
Not really worth it if spending that much on a keeper stops us getting a new cb, rw and st/cm and it fucks us for a decade.

How could that possibly happen? You mean if signing Trafford stops us getting all of the other players? Seems unlikely that we would do that.

Not having anything below the regulars has really held us back.

What premium is paid in the here and now you save for many more seasons.
Dr Jinx
Maignan Is 29, while not old for a goalkeeper it doesn’t reduce the squad age like what was an objective. Trafford is the one if we’re going domestic.
Mazzy
I think the fact Trafford obviously won't want another season with Burnley in the Premier League is a big factor in this saga. He won't want to tarnish the reputation he rebuilt last season by staying with them. The problem will be that we aren't the only ones who will want to sign him, unlike last summer. And very possibly less comfortable with his hands, Trafford so far one season in the prem and didn’t do well, Burnley with pope always survived and went down first season he left and we’ve managed CL twice and won a cup with him, the final we lost was when we didn’t have him. “As good as the rest of his game is” is a massive understatement imo. People are saying “chuck £40m at him and get him straight in first team”, I’m just glad the club seems to be not as gun ho.

Lucas Chevalier, his market value on Transfrmarket is higher than Trafford, equal with Mamardashvili and Verbruggen. Highest valued keeper on there is 40m euro and Chevalier is 30m. He's in top 10. I bet most on here wouldn't have a clue if Trafford is good with his feet or not. It's just like they're desperate to undermine Pope at the drop of a hat. We have an excellent goalkeeper who is dodgey with the ball at his feet. I get that but wanting rid of him just beggars belief.

What would be your thoughts if we were signing a 30+ goal kid from the Championship, over maybe a striker who scored 10-12 in the PL but whose hold up play was shite?
