I'm not questioning DCL's ability as a second choice striker, but he's a sicknote which is no good to us.

You'd like to think he can stay fitter by being a second choice striker rather than being relied upon as the main striker as at Everton

He's about as good as we are going to get really as a backup striker happy to play second fiddle to Isak and with PSR restrictions.

He's fucking useless.  We're better off not signing anyone than him

He’s absolutely useless. Can our scouts not find an emerging talent like Fulham did with Muniz, or anyone like that?

None that have played enough games in the premier league, no.

The worst part to this for me is it further confirms the sluggish approach of our recruitment behind the scenes.

He's been a free agent for a week now (and that will have been widely known behind the scenes that he wasn't renewing at Everton) yet we're only just entering talks now?

This cunt is all-time bad at finishing, I can't find anyone close to this level of underperforming against expectation. Giving him a bumper free transfer pay packet and likely 4/5 year contract is ropey business.

Make it work Eddie.

When you buy a player from a lesser club, and Everton currently are, it's never a  good sign when they're not arsed to be losing them at all.

We're not buying him from them.  They didn't even want him.

I think the 100k per week they were paying him was a factor as well.

Wouldnt be thrilled with this signing but I understand the reasoning.

Maybe I'm being naive but I thought the takeover would have meant bringing in a state of the art analytics and data team to help unearth hidden gems from across the globe. DCL is such a lazy and uninspiring transfer, the kind of move we'd have made under Steve Bruce.

Not the worst player to have as a 2nd choice striker but I was hoping we'd be able to do so much better.

How do you know we weren’t waiting for Wilson’s answer to new contract first ?

Both shouldn’t be considered tbh

This signing would be akin to when Andy Carroll returned. Pointless

Carroll could hardly move when he rocked up under Bruce. DCL obviously has fitness issues but he's only 28 and still been a regular in the Everton side.

He has questionable fashion sense and Everton fans don’t like him.

Not a chance someone with that background could ever be a success here…

Did you see what Antony Gordon used to wear?  No one cares about fashion sense. He’s just as injury prone as Callum Wilson. He’s scored 17 goals in the last 4 seasons (92 games) scoring more than 5 goals in only one of them. I’d rather just give Osula more of a go
