He's scoring goals at the minute that we've been putting balls into areas for where no-one has been there to tap in. No guarantee he'd be doing it here but he'd have been a good option first half of the season.

Bottom line, everyone is sometimes right and sometimes wrong. Therefore, not much reason to play captain hindsight every time you're right?

 

If DCL got injured before this run, which was a very real possibility, it would be very easy to dig up pro DCL posts and make fun of them..

People who express an opinion on a player by nailing their flag to a “he’ll be fucking shite / he’ll be fucking class” mast should expect some blowback when their attempts to play Nostradamus are proven to be incorrect.

 

Too many people gob off thinking they can predict the future with great certainty. Guess what. They can’t. 

 

Maybe they’ll learn to be a bit more balanced in their thinking.

There's been plenty incidences where the ball has been fizzed across the 6-yard box and no-one was on the end of it.

He was so shit last season in a contract year. 
 

He’s been scoring the kind of goals we’ve been crying out for mind.  Wolfe needs to learn he has to be attacking balls I to the box every single time not looking for cutbacks. 
 

A quick mobile centre forward that can press opposition and attack the box is the Howe blueprint.  Think Wissa offers us that and a massive leap to boooot.

It like captaining someone else than Haaland on fantasy, and then go on about how other people were wrong when it works.

 

I agree somewhat about people being overly negative sometimes. I actually didn't mind McTominay back then. But I won't defend every single potensial signing and then dig up negative posts when they just happen to do well for someone else.

His goal v Fulham is the type DCL is scoring every week at the moment so would like to think we can start getting these types of goals again more regularly.

I said if people constantly claim they can predict the future, they deserve the blowback when they’re proven to be wrong. Could be Kaka or could be anyone else who regularly nails their flag to a mast at either end of the spectrum. 

 

Whether their predictions were positive or negative isn’t relevant to the point I was making.
 

Too many people are insistent that they can predict exactly what will happen next with a player. So it’s funny to laugh at them when they were so committed to an outcome that turned out to be wrong. 
 

There’s far too much polarisation in people’s opinions and not enough balanced thinking. In my opinion.

There is absolutely no doubt that he would have put away a few of the Murphy centres none of our lads get near. In hindsight he would have been a very good third choice for the season instead of Osula, but there ya go.

He certainly would have been a very good third choice, unfortunately I don’t think we’re in a position to be paying our third choice striker £100k p/w, even if he was on a free.

He'll do what he always does - have a brief good spell (ie now), then be out for the rest of the season with a badly chafed fanny or something.

At the time it would’ve been 2nd choice striker. With scope to sell in 24 months for profit.

 

I guess club viewed the hamstring issues he’s had in the past, with need to press from the front, as too much risk. So instead spent £55m on someone with a clean injury record.

Without wanting to drag my previous posts up, I was very much OK with him coming in as the Wilson replacement, even with the injury record (which wasn’t as bad as made out IMO).

 

However, once our other striker decided to activate dickhead mode, it changed everything. We were then shopping in a different market, which I agreed (and still do) with.
