I don’t think so. He wanted to discuss a new contract and yeah, maybe an extension with a clause if some club met a ridiculous fee.

But he/his agent was told so bluntly to basically put up or shut up, it led us here.

If we’re going this route again, we really need to get that one right. Personally, I don’t think it’s necessary.. Eddie Howe should only have the CEO/Owners above him. Let him have the say so on the people coming in to support him.

Isak doesnt act this way because of Mitchell. He acts this way because he’s one of the biggest dickheads you could ever come across. You’ll see it again before his career’s out. No one’s a bigger cunt than Isak and that tells you the entire story for how we ended up here

This. He’s in it for himself, which is fine, that’s who he’ll be remembered as.

Sporting director is senior to the manager/head coach in any competent setup. If that happens not to be the case for us I'll laugh though :lol.

Eddie after being asked about his relationships with DoFs at about 28:00 mark:

"I had a very good relationship with Dan Ashworth, I had a very good relationship with Richard Hughes" with one notable name left out... [emoji38]

Useless journalists. I noticed straight away he didn’t mention PM. Why didn’t any of those question him on that. Would have loved to have heard his answer. It would have been something like, “Paul was only with us for a short time where we were restricted by PSR, so it wasn’t a long time to develop a strong relationship and make big changes to the club, but he’s a good professional and I wish him the best.” Eddie code for, “he’s a cunt”

Not really sure he needs questioned on it, the omission is enough. What’s he going to say if he does get questioned, he’s not going to lay into him, he’d have said something like “Paul worked really hard to support the club in his time here, in line with what he thought was best for the club. We all wish him well”

Why would you love to know? Genuine question.

Stuff like this just hurts the club and heaps more pressure on Howe. Only serves to benefit non fans of the club or those fans with ulterior motives who have YT channels wanting tittle tattle.

Same with all the Isak stuff over the past 3 months. Would’ve much preferred for the club to battern down the hatches and if need be ban all questions on the subject. Probably would’ve had a different forward starting on Saturday.

Not a single question asked about the opposition today etc.

Maybe I’m just in the minority these days wanting the best for the club over anything else.

He left because he knew what was coming in the summer, still a cunt though.

He left because he's a transfer guy who wasn't allowed to do transfers

Any professional at that level would also leave. He is indeed still a cunt though.

From Hope's article.

'Howe became that confidant, that fixer, all the while robbed of his own. He was needlessly - and negligently on the part of the decision-makers - pitched into battle with his own sporting director, Paul Mitchell.

In one story that captures the unrest, it is said, he addressed the club’s youth recruitment team and declared that Peter Beardsley would never be a footballer in the modern game. A controversial take based on physical genetics and discarding genius, but all the more contentious given Beardsley’s son was one of the scouts.

Such antagonism was also felt by Howe, his backroom team and the players, who won the Carabao Cup and qualified for the Champions League last season despite some other factions within the club, not because of them. After no first-team signings in three windows and players lost in that time, it was a dual sporting achievement that did not get the wider recognition it deserved.'

Absolute chancer and a bellend to boot.
