Vaj
Didn’t like the sounds of Thiaw based on what others had said but always trusted Eddie and the scouts opinions because they rarely miss. Looks like they haven’t missed again, what a player! Every aspect of his game is as good as Schar’s with the added pace, no brainer that he is first choice for me. Jonas
Really wasn't sure about this signing at all. Felt a pretty big fee and not someone that would shift the dial for us given he hadn't set the world on fire at Milan and isn't a German regular (didn't think I'd say either of those things like they were disses a generation back) but hands up am impressed with what I've seen and that looks good business especially compared to what you get from inside the PL for that fee in that position. TRon
Even more important given Tino is out for two months, he provides that extra pace and cover for Tripps who can get upfield confident there's cover behind him.
bigfella
This guy is the real deal. Schar has served us well, but Thiaw is the future. For the present, the competition is a nice problem for Eddie to have
sixx
Has slotted in seamlessly. We have depth now. Don’t think I’ve really seen that before.

No-one said that. Plenty of us said he was very shaky on his debut vs Liverpool - which he was.

Go and read the posts, a lot of posts were saying ‘he’s got a bit of Titus in him’ and such along those lines before he ever kicked a ball for us. A lot of complaints about the fee. My only point is this was another young player written off and deemed not good enough to start here before he even attended a training session, I just don’t understand it at all. Bunk Moreland
Classic case of Howe's Law: the more people shit on our new signing the better they end up being. Same story with Big Nick.
James
Not sure yet who starts a cup final if all fit, but Schar, Burn, Thiaw, Botman is an insanely good bunch of centre backs.

Aye the reaction to it was very strange I didn't see the Liverpool game live so when I saw it I assumed he started but it was a reaction based on 15 minutes of play if that. Was even stranger once I actually sat down and watched it.

Crackers if this is the case, and I’ll never fully understand football fans wetting their knickers over transfer fees.

Thought given Como had a €20m (I think?) bid accepted weeks before we paid what we did, we’d had our pants down. He looks good. Feel guilty for even questioning the signing now. Now I feel guilty on Schar, but I think it’s clear already that Howe intends to rotate this season to navigate the schedule.

Ketsbaia
It's lush knowing we have 4 centre-backs and 4 wide attackers. Chuck in Wissa's recovery and the depth is very promising.

John P
He's been better than I expected after reading some of the reports on him and the opinions of certain analysts. Still feel he does have an error in him, but he hasn't been fully Howed yet. Very promising
