Lish007 Posted Sunday at 13:45 Share Posted Sunday at 13:45 Osula is just like everyone who came before him: must know Eddie's game inside out, must be fit enough, must work hard and must be ready. We will see him more later in the season I'm sure of it.

We’re 4-0 up and he brings Almiron on instead of you then you’re fucking up somewhere. I think he just wanted to give Barnes some time out on the left. Easiest way to do that was putting Gordon down the middle and bringing on Isak for Almiron

Am reading a lot into it, but basically everyone there said they wouldn't wanna room with him because he plays music really loud and goes to bed late, and wakes late. Think people could be right about just more bedding in time, just think it'd have made more sense to give Gordon and Isak and a little rest while the game was dead. Colos Short and Curlies Posted Monday at 07:48 Share Posted Monday at 07:48 Gordon needs a couple of goals, can see the logic in sticking him upfront rather than Osula this week.

I think they should have been rested as well - this is the biggest part of Howe that he really needs to work on.

I actually think he’s got something about him for the brief stuff we’ve seen but there’s more to it with this one I reckon. Hope I’m wrong. This is pretty much word for word what people were saying about Hall last year Turned out there was nothing wrong, no conspiracy and he was just being eased in like Howe has done with so many of our players

AyeDubbleYoo Posted Monday at 12:29 Share Posted Monday at 12:29 I personally would just throw him on to rest Isak, but I understand a manager doesn’t want a player going on and practicing the wrong things, if that makes sense. He wants to bring him on when he’s clear what’s expected of him and has a decent chance of doing it.
astraguy Posted Monday at 12:56 Share Posted Monday at 12:56 (edited) If Willie was a bad egg, Wor Eddie wouldn't even of signed him or entertain putting him on the bench its just idol gossip Edited Monday at 12:56 by astraguy
M1tche Posted Monday at 15:50 Share Posted Monday at 15:50 I don't think they were getting at him being a bad egg at all, it's more that's he's just full of energy, and unless you're of a similar way, he would be a terrible roommate. Which is a fair point.

I’m sure he feels the same way too 😂 I get palpitations if I’m around him too much. He’s like a swarm.

OverThere Posted Monday at 21:09 Share Posted Monday at 21:09 Who knows what we have with this guy. Hall played CL and you could tell he was a talent. With Osula he has barely been on the field to make any sort of judgement.

And if I earned what they earn and was told the club could only pay for one room between 2, I'd just pay for my own room.

It was a quiz question and while I believe team bonding may suggest bunk with someone two grown rich men sharing a room for the night seems extremely unlikely. It is just interesting from a human prospective how easy it was baring in mind he's hardly been with the group very long to come to that conclusion. Nowt much in it really not something to draw conclusions from.

They don't share rooms, but at times they will share a suite or share an apartment type of thing while staying away. It's not asking them to share a twin in the Premier Inn type of thing. Mainly done for team bonding, and sometimes when you do have someone that may like a late night or could get up too late there's someone to keep them in line a little more. You need 30+ hotel rooms for a travelling football team which can be hard to find at short notice.

Gordon played regularly (every game?) in his first months, especially off the bench. Tino was straight into cup games but Trippier was first choice RB and captain at the time. Bruno was in after maybe 4 games? The only two who have been eased in are Tonali post ban, and Hall. Hall was learning a new position and could have been horribly exposed positionally if dropped in early. A striker is a different prospect Goals are flowing at the moment, Isak is fit and so it’s not a concern for the team but you’d have thought a 6”4 striker could offer something for ten minutes at the end of games and the player would be better for it. maybe_next_year
He was brought in as a young back up with potential for what is, by premier league standards, peanuts. Hardly surprising we haven't seen much of him. He only cost a couple more million than Alfie Harrison and you don't see people complaining about that transfer. Like £1-2m? Osula cost £10m with possible add ons, didn’t he?

Sibierski
I don’t agree with the Hall comparisons. Main shouts with Hall last season were he’s good enough to start, and should be starting over who was ahead of him and the weaknesses being exposed. With Osula, he’s not going to be ahead of Isak so needs minutes at his age to improve. If he’s not likely to get them this 2nd half of season, may as well loan him out. Because at the moment, he’s neither contributing to the side or increasing value for a sale. It’s just a declining asset. Be a bit different if he was 2 years younger IMO. I’d say with Osula, there’s valid arguments it’s unknown if he’s even prem level as he’s only scored in L1. Basically could’ve spent £15m on a Nile Ranger without the baggage.
