It's encouraging to know that there is a market out there for him. Hopefully something we can revisit in Jan.

On the upside. He is in demand. Provide we give everyone the illusion of him still having promise we can shift him for the same in January, more if he knocks a couple in from sub appearances.

30m extra in the account tomorrow instead of in January or next summer makes no real differece financially, so unless the move was right for us there is little immediate financial upside if a sale can happen in future. I am happy to have a 3rd striker on the books with AFCON and a massive amount of games this season.

Hope/Keith mentioned that a bid of £28.5M was accepted, that Sacha guy with a barnet like Sonic then mentioned it was a loan with option to buy - then a few hours later deal was off as we "were going to keep him for cover"

 

More than likely the price being mentioned was nowhere near what Sky/Hope thought and the deal made no sense for us - I struggle to see how he gets game time now unless its cover for AFCON

I really hope that it was that £3m loan and £15m option that we pulled out of and not £28.5m with buyback, because fucking hell.
