America's the worst. Anyone in their late 30s is a Man U fan, late 20s - Chelsea fan, and the teens and early 20s are Liverpool/City fans.

Was talking to a Chelsea "fan" once as we were discussing going to a NY Redbull game once and he goes "doesn't that Wright Phillips guy play there" and I go "yea, remember when his brother, Shaun, played for you?" He had no idea.

Get your point but surely the Chelsea fans are not old enough to remember him playing for them. What was it 20 years ago or so ?

Rumour has it he's not wildly keen on going to Liverpool unless he's guaranteed to start which i imagine he's not.

Probably fair, he absolutely has to be playing in a World Cup year.

Looking up at what the movement out of the corner of his eye is?

Are we actually giving two teams coming in the tunnel the Zapruder film treatment? Is Dalglish on the grassy knoll as the second bid?

He's one step away from twiddling his Dick Dastardly moustache man.

It's not that deep tbh, we already know Liverpool tap up players and that VVD knows about that better than most, this is just another bit of potential circumstantial evidence that points to something we already know.

Liverpool fans wonder why they're so disliked when they revel in tapping up players.

Some clubs are horrible but the fans arent too bad, some clubs are fine and have horrible fans.......Liverpool are the perfect symbiosis of both horrid fans and club.

Overtaken Man Utd for me as my most hated club, it's still a close run thing though.

The one time Chelsea could’ve steamed in for a gazump, and they don’t.

Don’t need to.

When he was sold to Palace a buy back( price fee match) and a 20% sell on was inserted .

We certainly have an issue following Colwill ACL but if he is being considered we wouldn’t need to do anything until Liverpool agree a fee with Palace.

Basically what you're saying is that Chelsea has an option to "James Trafford Gazump" the Scousers, which I desperately hope will happen [emoji38]

Used to hate ManU too but it’s because they won and had some overly petulant and competitive c**ts like Keane and Fergie. They were a real team for a while though.

I’ve come to really respect their stadium attending fan base. They’ve been no where near competing for the league for an age and you rarely hear major discontentment. The lack of booing and groaning at every misplaced pass has made me appreciate the attending fans. They seem to appreciate the effort over the results. As much as it galls me to say it….

Aye, spoke to loads at our hotel and on the way to the cup final. Apart from one older fella from Cornwall, who was really nice to be fair, every one of them was a complete down to earth Manc. To be honest, completely surprised me,  not what was expecting at all.

In a bar on Kilburn High Road had a chat with a few and they were the same, just normal Manc people supporting their team, Probably the first time I'd realised they still have some proper fans rather than the horrific plastic knackas that seem to be everywhere.

Gazump ? No need just need to offer what Liverpool do.
