How about waiting for Liverpool to put in their £40m bid….Offer £50m and make Liverpool up their bid, if they really want him..we can then pull out and leave the cunts with an inflated bid 😀…Vengeance is sweet.

They accept, Guehi says no, and we get another round of “Rejected FC” patter from the usual drongos.

Said this in another thread. The PL money train clubs aren't in desperate need of money from player sales. They don't need the money to avoid relegation.

But they would still prefer to bank £40m than lose a player on a free.

I don't know why we are even talking about Guehi when we've more or less signed another CB.

We still have a striker and a midfielder to buy, do people think those will cost a combined £30m or something?

But they have to be prepared to tell Guehi to leave or rot on the bench. Which they won’t do. It’s Guehi’s choice and that choice is Liverpool now or leave for free to the highest bidder on wages or whatever he’s looking for.  I don’t think he’ll sign for us now even if a bid is accepted - which is why I don’t think we’ll bid.

it’s the equivalent of Inter Milan bidding £50m for Konate. Konate isn’t going to sign for Inter.

Could be wrong.  Maybe Guehi feels he owes Palace a fee.  But that’s not how these transfers have been going.

*I think Yoro’s old team said they would bench Yoro if he didn’t leave which is why he joined Man U. Real were intending to contract wait him too. Palace won’t do that to Guehi.

I honestly couldn't care less how others perceive us with regards to getting rejected. If you don't try you don't get. And a few players we thought were out of reach might surprise us and be interested if we go for it. Cannot approach transfers with a fear of getting rejected.

I think we might have already made contact with Guehi reps and they've told us he's either going to wind his contract down or he's not interested, which is why we've gone in for Thiaw.

Yeah I think the apparently great Liverpool are being slippery shits once again and are in his ear to get him for free in a year. Shit house of a club

We're setting ourselves up for major disappointment in keeping this thread going. Bidding will just mean Liverpool steps in.

I half get your point, but it's a very defeatist attitude. I've not got a 12 inch penis, but would still go for birds that pornstars would.. even if I (or they) were disappointed in the end.

Yeh the Ashley era defenders have done excellently but we need to replace them.

We need to sort ourselves out. The squad hasn’t changed much in 2 years and it’s going to start showing.

Parish ain’t getting a penny for Guehi. The player will reject any move, Liverpool will have told him to sit tight for another season and they’ll be able to offer him a much better contract.

And, to think Liverpool cried about TAA.

Liverpool are stepping up their attempts to sign Crystal Palace and England centre-back Marc Guehi.

Palace captain Guehi has a year left on his contract, but chairman Steve Parish said earlier this week he could be sold this summer to avoid him moving on a free transfer in 12 months' time.

Sources have told BBC Sport that Liverpool have held initial talks with a view to signing the 25-year-old before the summer transfer window shuts.

Liverpool are also trying to sign Parma centre-back Giovanni Leoni.

The 18-year-old Italian is not seen as a potential rival for Guehi but more as one for the future.

Guehi was the subject of bids worth up to £65m from Newcastle last year.

The FA Cup winners are believed to want £40m for him now, but Liverpool want to pay less than that.
