Really, tbf they did draw whether teams were home or away, from an equal amount of home and away balls. Still total balls mind.

So the CL/EL teams can't be drawn against each other?

Aye, and for 4 out of 6 of them are getting a home tie for absolutely no reason other than fuck the rest of you lot.

That wasn't a game for the ages, glad we got through but we really need to up our game, 3 distinctly poor performances with spatterings of class, we can see what we can do but it's just not clicking.

I thought Tonali and Barnes both shone, Livramento was positive when he came on and Longstaff was actually solid. Bruno wasn't at his best, Joelinton will admit that was a poor one from him and Gordon still looks like he's way off his best too. Hopefully it all starts to click soon.

Sunday it will click!

Nope.

Champions League money has increased 25% this year as well. Cartel clubs just keep getting cosseted from every direction.

Nowt like having a level playing field. They don't even try to disguise it anymore.

Yes, the bullshit reason being if their League Cup games clash with European games.

What do we reckon then, City or Liverpool away in the draw?

Either 1970s Brazil or Pep's 2011 Barcelona.

Biggest positive for me in that game was Barnes, he was very good in a game where lots of players were struggling. Tonali was class obviously, better than we had any right to expect.

Harsh, thought he was good but expectedly tired out quickly

You could choose 5 random stats from today's game and not come up with 5 as bad as that.

They've been cherry picked for a very specific reason. They want Newcastle fans to rage in the comments. Don't fall for it

Mixed performance. Played well until Willock went off. Lost our way, and then picked up again for the last 20 mins.

All in all though a pretty positive first 3 games of the season, especially considering we aren’t out of 1st gear yet.

Lots to be a bit pensive/irked about in our play, gaps we are still leaving in the middle, poor finishing and final balls, but some really nice passages of play at the start and end of the game.

All that is eclipsed by the Sandro love at the end. Beautiful stuff and hopefully a real boost for everyone. It made me forget any of the shitness!

Praying for a reasonable draw and a breakthrough or 3 or 4 in the transfer market over the next couple of days!

Man City away and no signings it is then..

One obvious positive is that we haven’t lost despite being really shit at times. We struggled even getting a point when we played shit last season.

It's the sign of Champions [emoji38] Play shit, get points. We're gonna kick arse when it clicks and we play good. Hopefully this weekend

Just made a remark about that in the cup draw thread and about how it will become a rule before long - had no idea it already was, ffs its literally beyond parody.

Wouldn't piss on this sport if I was starting over.
