Personally would want a more technical player, as I think he's an electric pace on the counter type and where we sometimes struggle is against sides sat in against us at home.

Then again, if Eddie wants him I'm for it. We basically don't miss on transfers.

From Forest fans

“Well Newcastle fans don't want him, Saying he is bang average, one dimensional, One fan has gone as far as saying they will jump off a cliff if they sign Elanga. Who do they think they are seriously. Elanga would be a massive improvement on Purple Patch Murphy.”

”They obviously haven't seen the impact his set pieces have had this season, anyway his one dimension is better than the 4 dimensions of Anthony Gordon when 3 of them involve him looking to artificially win free kicks or penalties and the other one is looking exactly like my mates mam did in the 1980s.”

“Also Jacob Murphy has had success this season finding the net 8 times in the EPL, but 4 of those were against Leicester, 1 against Ipswich, 1 against Palace before they decided to play football well, 1 against us and 1 in a defeat to Fulham so his purple patch is not even that good really.”

“Hope they start bidding soon as last time we ended up getting £20m for a poor keeper and Anderson off of them, I'd take maybe Livramento or Hall for £30m this time.”

“For context they want 80m for 5 goals/6 assists (and older) older Gordon... Bidding starts there.”

Feel like his cat’s about to get kicked all over.

And he's much quicker, suits those breaks we like to make.

Those breaks with Gordon, Isak and Elanga will be electric.

The low block stuff we'll just have to continue to work on. Tonali and Bruno need to step up in those situations IMO.

Another PSR deal perhaps?

Willock and 25m for Elanga?

Willock + £50m for Elanga and Anderson

i want our baby boy back

which I realize is essentially just us trying to to convince them to take Willock for Anderson in a straight swap

Extremely narrow minded in our targets if this is true. Would be very disappointed. Hope it’s just a smokescreen.

I disagree, it’s a safe bet that ticks all the boxes.

To be fair, every side struggles to break down low blocks. We arnt in a position to build that side right now.

It’s a safe bet that doesn’t really get us far or allow us to evolve, yea.

The low blocks doesn’t necessarily need technical players in the forward positions. Key to break them down is moving the ball quickly across midfield (technical upgrade on Joelinton more important IMO), and the runs from out to in, which Gordon / Barnes can do and Elanga would too.

I think this a narrow view you’re taking mate, we’d all love a technically gifted winger who can also give us the physical output that Howe desires but these guys don’t come within the restraints we are currently working under.

We can go pretty far with our current identity, Liverpool eventually won a CL with it.

There’s a middle ground to be had. Signing Elanga isn’t the wag to evolve.

Evolution doesn’t come or go with one signing though, this is going to take time and more players will come and go before we are picking apart low blocks on the regular.

We would be ridiculous transitionally with Elanga involved in our current set up, it’ll be fine if it happens.

During this season I was watching Swedish television where they were talking about Elanga and how well he had done. The pundit then asked the others if they could see him playing for the top clubs in the PL  or in Europe.

They all said that he’s been fantastic for Forest where the team was built around his strengths as a player. They all agreed that he’s a good player but that he lacks some very important attributes in general play and that they didn’t see any of the top clubs going for him because of this. That he was in the perfekt setup where he is.

I couldn’t t agree more!
