Good example of him doing the right thing and being let down by the positioning of Gordon I think. Tbf, Elanga's been the same when Gordon’s put in very good balls too.

Gordon used to be great at getting to the mid to back post as well, but he seems to gravitate more towards pull backs now. He does it here and you can see from where Elanga has to play it from and where Woltemade is, that even though he's pulled two defenders with him, it's never on. I'm convinced they'll work it out though.

How our wingers can regularly cross to back post, if they’re smarter in how they attack the back post, they should be scoring more as season goes on.

Murphy against Wolves attacked the back post quite well, bit poor in execution, but he was showing the right instinct that all our wingers need to do all game and every attack.

Peak Pep sides are always a prime example for this and the easy goals that come from it.

Not sure why there's a vibe from some that they want to jump on Elanga.

I'm not claiming I was ecstatic with the signing or that it's all gone brilliantly, but he seems like a nice, hardworking guy who has some unmatched physical talents and Eddie Howe's firm backing.

That's enough for me to give him plenty of time to see how things mature. I'll embrace the good bits and go easy on the negatives for the foreseeable, he seems like someone who does better with positive energy.

I think he's a going to be a great signing. I just don't think he deserves a start ahead of Murphy.

Still think we have to get out of the mentality of starters and second choices, we're clearly trying to rotate more than before, we have a lot of games, players are going to start for rotation. Considering his effectiveness last season i agree Murphy maybe still makes my first choice (however against teams where the pace on counter will be extra effective I would lean to Elanga) in some sense but we should also just be rotating them to protect their fitness.

Which is totally fine. I somewhat disagree as I think games will bring him development, but I also agree with Tiresias beneath that in general we're gonna have more rotation and games will come for him either way.

But other than that I'm detecting a bit of hunger for us to finally have a proper flop. Christ, Murphy himself is evidence that you shouldn't overemphasize a few duff performances.

Yeah agree, however it's a double edged sword when it comes to game time and development. I'd be raising my eyebrows if I had as many assists as Murphy last season and i wasn't getting a start. I'm starting to sound a bit negative, and I certainly don't mean to be. Like ive said very happy we signed Elanga, and I'm very happy Howe's got this dilemma.

Here's the video I watched. Impressed by the crossing ability from these. Would be great if he can link up with Wolte in the same way that he did with Wood.

If we are to try 4-4-2, I’d try him up front alongside Wolte. Played through the middle a few times for Forest, but on the right I think his time is done for this international break which is damning.

Unfair to put Ramsey / Wissa in same pile, but for £150m, we’re not getting a great return. Need it to change by end of the season or it can knock us back.
