Exactly. Wasn't obvious at full speed first time round, but you could see how Isak's momentum got totally unbalanced by that clip to the leg.

Seen a wet paper towel with more strength and vigour than “Madders” had in that half arsed challenge. Bless him, he genuinely tried to properly do Bruno as well with a scissor tackle but didn’t succeed.

Lotus
I really hope we can improve on our performances before the results catch up with them. Everyone we’ve played so far has moved the ball noticeably better than us. I don’t expect tikka takka (or want it) but being able to play 7 or 8 consecutive passes or at least cross the half way line now and again to relieve some pressure would do wonders for my nerves. We’re pure winging atm.

I’m tired of commentators saying that because they got the ball, it’s ok. No, you can still perform a reckless challenge and get the ball. They did another challenge like that later on outside of the box though. Yep, the whole 'he got the ball first' hasn't been the rule for donkeys years. They'll be telling us that bundling the goalkeeper into the net with the ball is alright if it was a fair charge

Hanshithispantz
Went through Isak's ankle before clipping the ball anyway, and Radu's face looked guilty as fuck. There's no debate wether it's a penalty, it was a stonewall penalty, but the VAR team need to flip a coin to decide wether or not it was a clear and obvious error, or just an error, as for some reason that completely vague, subjective difference is important. Adam
Lovely to see Maddison bullied for both goals, complete farce he didn't get booked for dissent at the end of the first half though.

Keefaz
Think motd commentary was a bit biased. We weren't great by any means, but not quite as crap as they made out.
Kid Icarus
Funny thing about Maddison from my very specific POV is that he looks exactly like my 6 year old niece. Probably the same amount of strength as well. Edited September 1 by Kid Icarus

Stottie
All contact is enough to bring a player down. You end up punishing non-divers otherwise. Football is only a contact sport at things like corners, where obstructing the keeper is standard practice and keepers are expected to push opponents out of the way. If this sounds harsh on minor contact during tackles, 1mm of toenail on a wonky camera angle is enough to be offside. There is no "benefit of the doubt" given there. Six of Spurs shots were from outside the box by Pedro Porro. If "dominating" the game means Tino our right back taking six shots from distance, I am pleased we do not seek to dominate games. Getting it to Barnes or Isak inside the box every now and then is much more effective. Maddison is not a midfielder and playing him there exposes your team to what happened with our winner. In a 4-3-3 you have to play him wide or as a false 9.
r0cafella
Spurs didn’t create good chances that is absolutely true but they did control large portions of the game. We struggled to play out from the back and looked shaky when we did have the ball. I do think we showed more commitment and determination than Spurs mind.
