I bought the single in HMV Leicester Square the night of the final and the guy serving called another Arsenal fan over to laugh at me. I was only 8.

Yep - predictably brilliant day. We've been doing these things since 2008 but the joy of putting faces to names never gets old. Amazing effort from so many to get there and thanks to everyone for being there in good time - the order of play was super slick. Shout out to @Jill and @Shays Given Tim Flowers for between-game cat-herding and VAR calls.

Some other shout-outs. Fair play to all the goalies; Dan and Chris W made lots of great saves but Sifu has to take the golden glove on account of that (*that*) penalty save. Brilliant to have Nut out there after 9/10 years of not playing. Thoroughly enjoyed sharing pressing duties with wor Jimburst. Shak joins the likes of Ian W in the annals of 'good feet for a big man'. Plenty more I could mention.

For posterity:

Reds 3-1 Blues

🔴 Jimburst, TaylorJ, Yorkie

🔵 LFEE

Whites 1-1 NUFCs

️ Shak

🔲 Bowlingcrofty

Reds 1-0 Whites

🔴 Slim [Jimburst VAR ️]

️ [Shak missed pen]

Blues 1-2 NUFCs

🔵 Chris

🔲 Ryan, Bowlingcrofty

Reds 0-1 NUFCs

🔴

🔲 Ryan

Blues 2-3 Whites

🔵 Chris (2)

️ Superior Acuña (3)

Player of the tournament: Pata

Table

1. NUFCs   | 7  | +2

2. Reds      | 6  | +2

3. Whites   | 4  | 0

4. Blues     | 0  | -4

Great occasion as always, well done everyone.

Like that, even though they were quite short, every game was fairly close score wise. We lost all 3 but could have been a different story with a bit of luck.

Yep… first game for each team a little frantic but think 8’s worked as hoped and helped as the tournament wore on.

Can't say enough about how good this was: from the organisation (cheers Yorkie et al), to having my impressions of you all completely shattered and rewritten, to how welcoming and cool everyone was, to the surreal lovely mid-October weather. :indi:

Newcastle was a paradise as usual (apart from the Brighton game aspect, but that's nothing new to me sadly). Very envious of everyone who's local.

Thank you to all, lovely to get to chat more with yous and meet some new faces. So many there that there was many I didn’t get to chat much - hope to see yous at another one.   Football was great fun and glad to finally try Chilli Pad after reading about it in Newcastle’s ultimate restaurant guide - the thread in NO chat. Especially thanks to Yorkie and LFEE for football and dinner organising.

Blows my mind a bit still meeting real life people behind those usernames and avatars.

Chilli Padi was lovely like. Had Sri Lankan food for lunch as well. These are options we just don't have at home.

Without watching the video I’m hoping Sifu psyched out Shak by standing on the penalty spot opening a bag of crisps for 5 mins before he let him take the pen?

"Any one any good at penalties"

Soon as the kicker said that it was all over.
