Christ almighty, even the MotD comms edit is driving the Mitchell/Howe rift story.

They probably spent the last two weeks on here…

Just finished watching the Mags get all 3. Thoughts....

Nice dribble for Gordon as he took on his man at 22min.

Popey had no chance on their goal.

Schar with a rocket and a bit lucky but holy hell, that works.

Harvey Barnes with a damn work of art worldie. That guy has some serious end product.

Pope with a fantastic save in extra time.

Mags, great game away. Great game Eddie and the black and white army albeit red today.

And of course he's going for the boneless banquet, the uninspiring choice of every little beige drip, bet he even brought his own knife and fork and went for the corn instead of the gravy too. I'm disgusted quite frankly

If you saw how that gravy was made.... :anguish:

Carragher is desperate for things to get unsettled at Newcastle because he's bought into the Gordon rumours and wants Liverpool to get him.

Was going on and on about Gordon being one of the best left wingers in the Prem today.

He's a snide scumbag.

Also wants  EH to England to set us back further. That’s why you should never wash your dirty laundry in public.

The media just want us to be the clown club we were under Ashley with all the drama. They hate that we've been a fairly stable, sensible and most importantly SUCCESSFUL club the past few years.

Was down there today, mood was pretty grim heading into half time, but nothing beats coming from behind away from home. Awful away end (due to layout more than anything else), but pandemonium when Barnes' went in.

sounds like a woman's voice to me and female hands, though you might have not been serious with the wink

Tony was the guy on the left greeting them - he's usually there on the tunnel/dressing room videos.

Aye it’s poor - always prefer to be behind a goal hopefully that was it and not too many strangers / Jonny come latelys taking the piss. Last season there were people trying to buy half and half scarves as we were walking down from

our bus ffs

The positives today:

Pope's shot stopping.

Schar - back and hitting long rangers.

Gordon - looking electric at times.

Barnes - showing great form again.

Willock - back fit and making a difference.

The negatives:

Burn - was getting too tight too often and being turned and exposed easily.

Hall - off the ball feels like a real defensive weakness. Gets beat 1v1 very easy.

Longstaff - couldn't find a teammate to save his life most of the time.

Murphy - decision making most of the day was poor.

Pope - kicking as usual very poor.

So a mixed bag really. Great that we are 10 points from 12. But you can see loads of room for overall improvements. Hopefully the form players will play their way into the starting 11. Feel like Barnes and Tonali have already and maybe Willock fitness permitting.

Probably means we'll start playing better but losing. So this "poor form" can stay if we keep winning as far as I'm concerned [emoji38]

Our early success is already confusing them

as soon as we lose a game someone will be going on about how much longer can howe last.

I'm surprised they haven't started claiming mad dog wants the job yet tbh

Definitely part of the agenda.

Of course pundits are mentioning it, it’s a big story and the rift angle was all our own doing. Ridiculous interview from Mitchell that’s fueled all of this nonsense; if he didn’t think the scouting was fit for purpose (funny how the only poor window we’ve had since the takeover was the one he oversaw but anyway) then that could have been highlighted internally. It read like a power play and seemed like an exercise in self-preservation rather than having the best interests of the club in mind.

All he had to say was something like “we understand the window was disappointing but as a result we’re all pulling together to work on ensuring that we have a best-in-class scouting operation in place for the future”. Done. We then wouldn’t be having to deal with all of this negativity/uncertainty on the back of a great start.

Just had a look at some stats. I know most probably don't care, but we have overperformed the stats the most, while Wolves are on the other end of that. They have higher xPTS than us, 4.55 vs our 3.92. We have 10p and they have 1p. Our xGA is also higher than theirs, 7.59 vs their 6.55. We've conceded 3, while they have conceded 11. I think the Wolves - Chelsea game is inflating their stats the most, they had higher xG, but still lost 2-6.

I saw that as well. Obviously I'm happy that we are overperforming, but we can't rely on hitting worldies or Pope making spectacular saves over a season. Luck will even out. We still haven't clicked yet, but hopefully a week on the training ground will fix that. Joelinton and Buno need to get into gear - it's one thing if lesser players aren't up to the mark, but that means we need less off days from our purples.
