Manchester City - 115 Charges Case for Alleged Financial Breaches Begins

Is there a possibility they'd be stripped of their titles right enough?

If Solskjaer had a Premier League title that would be enough for me to call it a day. Life complete.

Yaeh they should just hand Man U the title from back then and rotate with Liverpool for every season henceforth.

I was all for them being stripped of their titles until all of this dawned on me.

Honestly, it really doesn't matter does it. Them and Chelsea have cheated their way to success, entrenching themselves in a position where they can effectively constrain the capabilities of other clubs in 2026 to challenge them.

It's fucking ruined, the sport.

Chelsea didn't even get into Europe this season.

But they'll still spend upwards of 200 million and bring in a world class manager.

Meanwhile Champions League club Aston Villa will be selling the family silver.

If it happens this summer it will be interesting to see which rats desert the sinking ship, Haaland wont stay for one.

He'll probably go on loan somewhere for a season. The cheating twats.

If they would be stripped of their titles, that wouldn't necessarily mean 2nd placed wins the title.

Aye was thinking of the financial lawsuits from the relegated clubs etc. I don't think it's actually possible. Solskjaer is already a league champion in our hearts.

It does need to be more than a one season thing imo. Even demoting them to the Championship, they'd be back to finishing top four the season after.

It would need to be more than -10 though. If it was up to me it'd be -20 for 5+ seasons.

Am I not right in thinking they can’t demote them down the leagues they can only give a points deduction

There's nothing the PL can do that will realistically damage them long term. Their ownership have such deep pockets that any fine is immaterial so we can forget a Rangers style liquidation. A recurring points deduction is the best anyone can hope for. Stripping them of trophies will cause more problems due to amount of teams that'll be aggrieved

This is where I am, they basically said fuck the nonsense rules.

There is that as well, they only did what Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea and Blackburn did but a lot better

As a Newcastle fan, I can’t really hate Man City tbh. If anything, they proved the established elite can be disrupted. For decades the same legacy clubs dominated football financially and politically, then City came along and forced their way into that circle.

Funny how spending and financial power only became this huge moral issue once clubs outside the traditional cartel started competing with the old guard.

This is what they want, like. Might as well just cut to the chase, let Man Utd, Arsenal & Liverpool keep the title between them and the rest of us will feed on their scraps.

Punishing City heavily will just hand the Red twats and leading super-league proponents Arse, Man U and bin dippers ownership of the league and cups. These are the 3 clubs that were actively trying to destroy the game as we know it. No thanks.

This. "No winner" like the Tour De France did with Armstrongs wins.

The PL can kick them out, it would then be up to the Football League as to what they do with them then, I think.

Could they not just bar them from owning the club for all the underhand dealings?

That would be the best punishment.

No, why would that be a thing?

They MUST finish this now. Surely the PL is bad enough that they now need to draw a line under it to try and get some integrity back?
