Home games are naturally shorter I would think.

I also think it was rather a tight game. I was on the edge of my seat, even when the ball was nowhere near the goal, hoping that when we never had the ball, we could get it back, or when we did have it, that we could make that break away.

In those circumstances, I for one am far less likely to be on here and make a post. I’d imagine it would be similar for everyone else watching on TV.

Anyone know that website to watch full games back?

The full match will be on the Newcastle United App either already, or very soon.

I thought it was a great performance today. That's the Newcastle we want to see all the time. Loads of good performances (Tonali, Trippier, Bruno, Gordon, Burn) and we had chances to win it ourselves.

We've GOT to go to Goodison next Saturday and back it up though. Hopefully today gives the players the confidence they need to do just that.

Very happy tonight.

Yeah, no excuses if we don’t 3 points there, they are fucking shit. They don’t even have that midweek night time atmosphere that they are so used too against us.

Actually enjoyed the game today (other than man city serenading everyone to sleep with their passing game).

We had a bit grit about us and tenacity and limited city to very few chances. Dan burn doing a stellar job wrestling haaland all game.

The lack of quality in our final ball is crippling sometimes though.

Notable mention to hall today also.

I thought Hall was excellent today.

Yeah Hall was brilliant even though I forgot to mention him in my highlighted players from my post above. Got to start him all the time.

Classy from Pep. He loves us really. Probably wants a job here when he leaves City.

Pep Guardiola has revealed what he said to Eddie Howe at the final whistle following Newcastle United's 1-1 draw with Manchester City.

The former Barcelona boss does not usually spend much time talking to opposing managers in the immediate aftermath of games but could be seen in a deep conversation with Howe before he explained what was said in the post-game press conference.

Asked about the encounter, Guardiola said: "I said to him how I admire him and for the way they approached the game, in high-pressing, so direct. They have a lot of legs with [Jacob] Murphy, [Anthony] Gordon, [Harvey] Barnes - we controlled them really, really well in the most part of the game, especially when we play so, so high.

"Bruno [Guimaraes], and Joelinton, the physicality, [Sandro] Tonali, and after the central defenders so high. It's such a difficult team. "Newcastle last season struggled a little bit for just one reason; a lot of injuries. Otherwise, that team competes really well."

Guardiola went on to compliment Howe further and said: "Eddie Howe is a manager for many years, a lot of times, and never creates a problem in press conferences, always polite for opponents, like we try to do as a Club. "I admit that we would like to win, we draw, they deserve it as well, and we both take the point."

Reflecting on the game, Guardiola added: "They had moments in first ten minutes and after their goal, but in general we played really good.

"We made bad decisions at the last minute to make it 2-0. It is always difficult here with their physicality and they defend so deep. We had chances but [Nick] Pope was brilliant so we take the point.

"When we scored we played better. We make a mistake and after they play better. But then we take the game again and had chances to win it."

Very honest guy. Really like Pep and he seems to like us.

He doesn’t mean it, it’s another dig at Arteta. If they get beat and it’s in March he’d be horrid or if he considered Newcastle title rivals. He’s an excellent manager and that includes using press conferences for the mind games they all try.

Still not seen anything other than the goals and some penalty shouts. The one on Joelinton looked stonewall, to me.

Chuffed with the result. Sounds like we played some great stuff and more than worthy of a point. The stats kind of bear that out. 40% v them and with similar goal attempts. Unheard of.

I dunno I feel like he's so obsessed with football and systems he sees a kindred spirit in Howe. You're right he wouldn't be so overtly complimentary about him if we were title rivals mind.

Think he’s just like Mourinho in that he will always respect NUFC through and through given SBR. Remember he tried to work here (sent SBR a letter ffs).

Not sure there is a person in football who really has anything bad to say about Eddie. Eddie’s footballing brain and ultimate respect he gives to everyone is top top stuff.

Always seems very humble after the games with us. Seem to recall him asking the Sky interviewer, quite earnestly, if he "enjoyed it" re the 3-3 game.

He hates all the red clubs, and like them is us against the rest.

Reverse that and it’s a city playing being tackled like that, it’s a pen on the pitch or reviewed by VAR.
