I expect us to be full strength for this.

If we had a CL game we would be. Treat it like that.

We need to get our first XI clicking and this is a great chance to get some confidence in, especially if Chelsea field a weakened team.

We have to be strong favourites for this.

If we lose then Howe out, Saudis out, etc, etc

We’ll go full strength but I’m not sure that makes us strong favourites. Maybe even given Chelsea are better but we’re at home.

am worried about Joao Felix - ridiculously talented player and crazy he's ended up back at Chelsea as part of their b team

and if it's not going well they'll just bring on Palmer

we can only dream of such luxuries

gonna be a tough game if they're up for it

Chelsea I still don’t see as a good team. Compared to our game at home to them last season, there’s no change in gap between the sides IMO. And that was a relatively close first 30, before we utterly smashed them with the intensity and general play, exploiting the gaps. That’s what we need to get back too, something we can do, but coaching and players need to make it happen, along with fans to a certain degree.

Chelsea's weakened team is probably worth twice as much as our first 11 tbf. I don't know about strong favourites. But I do think they'll switch their players around a lot and that might mean they aren't as tuned in as you would expect, so there is a chance for us to hit them while they are finding their feet tonight. We need a win though, we aren't going to go through on pens.

TBH I expect the crowd to be more nervous than bouncing, but hopefully I’m wrong.

Nervous is being kind. From what my little brothers (who go to all the games) tell me, it’s very moan-y in most parts.

it's been like that forever, other than a few anomalies like PSG and a handful of games post takeover. SJP is full of sad bastards who revel in misery

home win, into these

There’s absolutely no shame in losing to Chelsea away by the odd goal. In fact, for all the money they’ve spent and their sparkly new manager I think their supporters should be more concerned than ours because we could’ve got something out of that game.
I expect them to rotate their vast squad and us to barely make any changes. As a result, I think we’ll pip them.

"All right, well, I was bombing it round one time and someone gave me Chelsea in the cup. They all said, "If he loses that, he is definitely dead".  Then I played a high pressing 4-2-3-1 and we win 4-0 and I said, "What you worried about?""

If Gordon is back I think we win. If not then struggling to see us suddenly clicking into good form for this.

I hope we don't risk him for this game.

I’d guess a blend of both. Europa defence, but then likes of Jackson/Caceido/Palmer starting.

Jorgensen: Diasi, Tosin, Badishile, Cucarella: Caicedo, Enzo: Felix, Palmer, Sancho: Jackson

That would be my prediction for them.

Worth trying Miley behind Tonali and Bruno?

I think he'll definitely start, but would expect Bruno to be rested. Maybe miley, longstaff, Willock
