Playing deeper suits us nowadays.

As I say - we have the personnel to be brutal on the break. Having to not break sides down is a massive benefit.

Tino was unreal in that half, basically closed down that entire left hand Arsenal attack.

Right? Gordon in front of him instead of Miggy/Murphy a huge difference.

Are we playing a 4-4-2?

out of possession when they have it deep yeah. Willock is pressing as a striker alongside Isak.

Joelinton down the left with Willock at LCM is so incredibly effective I don't know how we can move away from it going forward.

If Gordon continues to adapt to the switch to the right, and shows he can be a threat down that side, maybe this is a longer term solution?

There's also the added dimension that having Hall at LB could bring to that Willock and Joelinton link up.

Previously they've generally had Burn at LB behind them, they could be even more effective with Hall getting forward to offer something on the overlap.

Hope we don't try and protect the 1-0 second half, just feel we'll invite pressure on, it's obvious they're going to push for a goal, but hopefully we can break up their play, just need to be fast out with it, less time on the ball and quick passing to unlock space, Gordon's delivery from the right is Beckham style, more of that please.

Think the Joelinton and Willock link up on the left gives our midfield three so much more structure.

Longstaff been really good too but I do think that Joe double act is a link between our midfield three and front three that we really struggle with most of the time.

It also helps a lot that we don't have Murphy on the field as he's an utter passenger when we're in possession.

Joelinton is so good for our possession when he's on that left side.

Because he's facing play he doesn't get caught on the ball, and he's excellent at linking with Willock and Hall, and it allows us to get up the pitch.

It makes such a massive difference.

Has arteta turned his team into a glorified stoke side under pulis? Looking for setpieces to bail them out.

[emoji38] they’re pretty good on the break, would be much scarier with Odegaard playing.

Longstaff has looked really solid and confident.

Agreed. Wasn’t happy with him starting over Tonali but he he hasn’t put a foot wrong. Schar’s been our only weak link today.

Any slightest touch and the arsenal players throw themselves to the floor.  It's definitely a directive from Arteta.  Cheating basically.

Yes, absolutely. Can see it already.

In fact our first goal against Chelsea midweek was a perfect example. With Hall being played in on the overlap to cross for Isak's goal.
