And that would be perfectly fine seeing as he played really well against both Chelsea and Arsenal.

Well, that depends on how Forest set up, really. If they allow us the lion's share of possession and counterattack on us, Longstaff in CM will be pointless as has been seen already this season in an away game where we had most of the ball (initially, anyway), where he was substituted and we went on to win the game at Wolves.

Longstaff is useful in the games like last week but not in games where we need to break opposition who are sat deep down imo.

Lascelles got booked fir blocking a throw in attempt and he wasn't even playing.

He did that whilst club captain too...

That was smart. Not stupid. It was also cheating.

Eddie will bench Bruno for Tonali in this one. They'll be this rotational thing going forward.

No chance. Bruno is the first name on the team sheet when it comes to league games.

That wasn't impulsive or stupid was it though? It was specific and tactical? Cheating too, but still...

Pretty sure it wasn't preplanned, and he decided to do it when the opportunity presented itself.

Or in other words, impulsive... 😄

I feel confident. I think it's finally coming together for us and Forest are decent but not as good as their last few games suggest and all good runs have to come to an end.

The former player curse is a concern but I suspect it doesn't actually stand up to much statistical analysis, so I'm not focusing on that. If Wood scores it's because he's full of confidence not because he used to play for us.

As for Tonali, Bruno or Longstaff, if he's fit Bruno starts he's captain after all. Between Tonali and Longstaff I just trust Howe's judgement on this, we need to get to the point where players drop in and out of the team and it is seen as purely a tactical decision rather than one based on the overall quality of a player.

We just need to give then a game like we can at home. Pressing with measured intensity. Hopefully their open game will play into our hands. Our form is on the up and confidence is good.

Forest are due a loss.  :bluestar:

Can't see us keeping a clean sheet here,3-3 thriller

I'd be raging if we concede 3 goals tbh. Even 2 would be unacceptable. If we want Europe we have to go to places like Forest and stand firm.

We will beat this lot tomorrow, their home form isn’t anything special and it has been their smash and grab performances on the road that has earned them credit.

At home they have lost to Fulham, drew with Wolves and Bournemouth and beaten Palace and West Ham, who had Alvarez sent off in the first half.

If we don’t give them space to hit us on the counter then we can outplay this lot quite comfortably.

Aye that's understandable, but I can see goals in this in an end to end encounter.MGW back for them I believe, and Anderson surely has a part to play

I think our last two games have been our best performances of the season for me, and they were built on being compact and not giving free goals. If we can stop the opposition scoring, I am pretty confident we can find at least one goal ourselves, so I think Eddie will want us at our most disciplined tomorrow, and defending from the front.

Things can obviously change quickly but it does feel like tomorrow could be pivotal to our season. Win and we're right in the mix, and with confidence, for a European place. The alternative may be recoverable but with an international break pending the table will not look good.
