Nottingham Forest 1-3 Newcastle United (10/11/24) | Reaction: pg 43 | Goal-posts: OP

From a Forest message board...

'One final thought: not all Newcastle fans are scum. As we walked away from the ground we chatted to a few going our way, and they were polite and well mannered, just like all football fans should be."

As someone who's been to 3 games at Forest, in a place with many "home fans only" pubs because their fans can't be trusted, get to f***.

Got to say I was absolutely baffled by taking wee Joe off as IMO he’d been our best player going forward beforehand but given Tonali played a role in both goals you have to hold your hands up and say fair play Mister Howe.

They're just shit, no idea how they were ever third. Chris Wood was quiet all game, Anderson came on and did nothing, MGW was hooked and was probably their best player, Yates is just a mobile shithouse and they've got Mats Selz in goals for fuck sake [emoji38]

Other than one lapse on a close free kick they rarely bothered Pope.

Been Pardewing it. Fair play to them. Fair few in the media tipped them to go down and that’s not going to happen.

As much as anything, I imagine they're managing his minutes still. They're doing something right anyhow - great to see him back looking like this.

Yup and if they are then fair play. Certainly looking more and more like the player we know he can be. Thankfully he doesn’t appear to have lost any acceleration either which is absolutely vital as I can never get enough of him slowing someone down to dart past them or get a ball in quickly.

It's really heartening. I was starting to get worried those predicting the demise of his career as a permacrock would be right. He looks dead happy too.

He's a good solid manager but not quite good enough for a top 8 club.

Spurs ditched him after 17 games at 1.65 points a game. Ange is currently on 1.72.

Eddie with us is at 1.73, starting with a relegation zone team.

All schadenfreude I know, but I did enjoy watching MOTD, and the pre-produced introduction to our game, with all these Forest fans and pundits hailing the return of the glory days.

In reality, I think they were one of the weaker sides we've faced. Their only goal came from a badly defended set-piece, and their main threat seemed to come from fast breaks.

Credit as always to Eddie, who had them well sussed-out, and Bruno, who dominated the midfield.

If he wasn’t a decent bloke who wouldn’t do something like that, the pink puffer jacket screams  @Paully as that is definitely something he’d wear.

I can confirm he wasnt in any state to throw anything

Buckled at my mate suddenly waking up during the Barnes celebrations mind

Fantastic counter.

That highlight does Anderson no favours at all tbh. Doesn't spot the danger, until too late until the play has gone past him. He was worse just before it starts too, he was turned around facing the bench and gesticulating as well.

Rumoured to be prime Maradona when he played against us [emoji38]

I was one of his biggest fans whilst he was here, but It hought he looked lost out there yesterday. Good ball retention but seemed disconnected from their play in both directions.

I work alongside a Forest fan and he rates him highly. I'm pleased that he is doing well for them, not so good against us!
