Think I'd go the first option First option for Liverpool, second option against everyone else. There's no lead we could take to Anfield and feel safe. Nauseous just thinking about another famous night.
nufcjb
will the semis be at a neutral venue from next season like the FA cup too?

Would make no sense being midweek. Brentford only had about 700 there tonight (fair play to those who travelled) so you couldn’t see them taking thousands to a neutral venue midweek. Saying that the neutral venue would probably be fucking shite Wembley. Just want to use this opportunity at how shit the semis of the the FA Cup being at Wembley are. Utterly pathetic. SteV Posted Thursday at 08:12 Share Posted Thursday at 08:12 Estimated away allocations for SF: Arsenal - 6k Liverpool - 6k Spurs - 6.2k Man Utd - 7.5k
Interpolic Posted Thursday at 09:00 Share Posted Thursday at 09:00 They seem to have messed with the dates a fair bit. March 16th final is at least 2 weeks later than usual but even more strangely there's a whole month between the first and second legs of the semis. Dokko Posted Thursday at 09:12 Share Posted Thursday at 09:12 If we're to progress, we really need to make a solid move in the transfer market. Ideally a right footed cb, but it would have to be one who isn't cup tied and ready to step in. Skriniar on loan with option to buy would be my choice. Do not want to be playing Spurs in the final with risk of being the side that loses to them Rather play winners of tonight over two legs as they are the sides where if it's an equal shootout of you shoot, we shoot, we stand best chance. Then in final, either of Arsenal or Liverpool with pressure on them and us to learn from 2023 final.

Got two midweeks now in January. Final is now after L16 2nd leg, which if we're in the final for, we get a full weeks prep whilst opposition either had a tough 2nd leg (and home/away depending where they finish in league. Can't see us ever winning at Anfield these days to be fair, our 0-0 at SJP and 1-1 at Anfield in 20/21 would be enough to see us through a 2 legger on away goals (mad that was under Bruce) now that I think of, pretty sure away goals don't count in the LC? SteV Posted Thursday at 13:44 Share Posted Thursday at 13:44 How would you rank these draws in preference? (i’m just going to assume Spurs beat Man Utd because I think they will) 1 - Arsenal (H/A) 2 - Arsenal (A/H) 3 - Liverpool (H/A) 4 - Liverpool (A/H) 5 - Spurs (H/A) 6 - Spurs (A/H) For me it’d be: 6 2 5 4 1

MagPar Posted Thursday at 14:23 Share Posted Thursday at 14:23 It's a real shame that the two biggies didn't suffer shock defeats. We're probably the team with the longest odds now.

Heron Posted Thursday at 19:07 Share Posted Thursday at 19:07 (edited) If there's a team I'd like us to fucking batter left in this cup it's Man United like. I quite like Postecoglou, I'm not massively anti-Spurs. I don't mind Arsenal but Arteta is an absolute bell end and whilst Liverpool are a little bit self-indulgent and self-righteous I fucking cannot stand Man United. But Tottenham will probably turn them over good and proper tonight I reckon. Edited Thursday at 19:08 by Heron
BlueStar Posted Thursday at 19:29 Share Posted Thursday at 19:29 Think we worked out as a Newcastle fan my dad has been to five Wembley finals, we've won none of them and scored one goal. What a record
gazza ladra Posted Thursday at 19:46 Share Posted Thursday at 19:46 I think the only team you don't want in the semis is Liverpool. We're not likely to beat them over two legs. We have a decent shot against the other three. Personally, I want Arsenal in the semis. Liverpool in the final.

WilliamPS Posted Thursday at 19:53 Share Posted Thursday at 19:53 I’d prefer not to play Liverpool at any stage - record against them is abysmal.

Make it all the sweeter IF we got to the final and beat them though... The capitalisation of IF doesn't express how big an if it would be though... 😅 Edited Thursday at 19:55 by Joe1984
Turnbull2000 Posted Thursday at 19:59 Share Posted Thursday at 19:59 Would much rather get Liverpool in the semi. Odds of getting beat off them in the final are probably 90%. Would rather just get it out the way.
