Was two this year though wasn't it, as in 1 additional to most the PL.

Yeah, this is always the case though.  No PL or Division Two side play in the first round - all start in the second round, except European-qualified clubs who start in the third round.   Been that way for yonks.

Has there ever been a serious link for Isak to Arsenal beyond the wishful thinking of Paul Merson?

Edit: it does seem like it’s just because of the similarities to Henry.

They were linked with him for ages before he came here. At one point an I5AK reg car was spotted near their ground during the transfer window aaaaaand it wasn't him

Apparently they can call dibs on any player that resembles Henry.

the way their arrogant fans are talking on their shite forum you'd think they had the worst injury crisis ever and all refs are against them

most of them not bothered about it

really hope their fans' negativity transmits to their players and we can take advantage

seeing us play without Bruno though is gonna be tough

obs Schar a huge loss as well

more hopeful of a draw than confident

would rather win this trophy than qualify for Europe

Arsenal and their fans are like a skinny guy walking around with a big puffer jacket and trying to act hard. It’s all an act and they’re an emotional bunch.

Didn't realise Havertz is still injured for this. I don't particularly rate him but he's a real nuisance around the pitch. Plus the kid who came in for Saka is now injured as well so that a plus for us, he was doing pretty well for himself recently.

You mean a Swedish striker playing in Spain doesn't have a private plate UK Rolls royce despite not living in the UK?

Sorry, I am confusing it with the fact that they were then seeded in the round they were entered so to avoid one another. That was just introduced this year, I believe.

Can't think of a media campaign this strong determined to link a specific player to a specific club in a long time, mind [emoji38]

Could understand it if was based on bids or strong rumours from the Arsenal end but it's been driven by purely 'neutral' media outlets. Be watching this one on ITV I think. Sky will probably dedicate a segment on how he'd fit into the Arteta system and images of him knocked up in an Arsenal kit to show before the game.

The Isak to Arsenal thing is one of the joys bestowed on PL purple  and PSR favoured clubs.  Shows how biased the league is when what could potentially be the richest club in the world is deemed by the press to be a feeder club for the chosen 6.

Rice to Arsenal was pretty relentless too.

Gutting we're missing Bruno and Schar for this given how depleted Arsenal are. Feels like such a golden opportunity. If we can get out with a 1 goal deficit or less to take back home then we're winning the tie.

He’s just been ill, hasn’t he? Sounds like he might be back.
