Arsenal vs. Newcastle United - 07/01/25 @ 20:00 [LC SF 1st Leg] - Live on ITV 1 & Sky Sports

Would rather it was home first, TBH.

Think getting something to hold on to and keeping it tight for an away game is preferable. If we need to open up at home to a top team chasing goals. We’ll get picked off.

Still, nice problem to have. Actually being in the draw at the business end of a cup competition!

Not if we're 4-0 down from the away leg without Schaar and Bruno. Could argue it would be better to get the home leg first in this instance.

Yeah, without those we'll be even more vulnerable in defence. Risk getting routed before we can take a game to them at St James.

Just two bookings to get banned is fucking ridiculous.

Written in the stars for us now.

Spurs have knocked out Man City, and Man Utd, they’ll knock out Liverpool, get us who should be the most winnable final they could have, and Spurs it up.

Or we will 'Newcastle' another final.

Like every other final in my lifetime.

I prefer your version... 🤣

Historically teams playing at home second leg have a better ratio for getting through ties - though it is marginal.  That’s for European games like - not sure re League Cup

Taking a draw or even a -1 back home is huge though, totally puts it in our favour. Home first puts pressure on us to do our business early and hope we've done enough to survive the second leg.
