Newcastle United 3-0 Aston Villa - 26/12/24

Proper bit of needle in that, was a decent half, set up perfectly by the early goal. Would be tempted to take Joelinton off for Willock as he's been angsty, and Taylor seems very card happy.

We need to calm down.

Why is Joelinton giving the referee a decision there? We were in control of the game, and that gave Aston Villa a bit of life just before half time.

We need to get a 2nd goal and kill this game off. We should be able to see this out, but this is NUFC, and we are always with a gun in hand, not knowing if we are going to kill the opposition, or shoot ourselves in the foot.

I think it's speak for us all when i say we need a second.

Yeh.

Crowd have a big part to play too. If we don’t score soon they’ll start getting nervous and create the atmosphere for a sucker punch. So if we get dragged into deep waters the crowd need to stay up.

If we get an early goal it could be 3-4 goals.

That was too lax after the red. Get fucking on it and finish this after the break.

Yeah they need to put this to bed no fucking about. Isak careless in letting that ball go out. We’ll get chances second half as they get tired, just hoping we don’t give them anything doing something stupid.

Feel like if we are patient we’ll win comfortably. Bit sloppy with the final ball and decision. Few inches from 2-0 and a world class save also stopping us from

scoring again.

If we get a second early then I think more will follow. Will get a bit nervy if not. Especially if Joelinton is in one of his moods and gets another yellow

Joelinton is needlessly physical and reactive at times, winds me up. Needs to take a leaf out of Tonali’s book.

My dad who is a Villa fan wasn't in the slightest doubt. Duran is a hothead, and it would be easy as fuck to make sure he didn't step on him. It was obviously deliberate.

Yeah, he was actually going to miss him until he changed the direction of his foot - he definitely meant it

He shouldn’t have raised his hand but it was soft as shit. He barely touches the shoulder. Rogers reaction buys the yellow card.

Go have a Berocca mate, it's just passion.

Nothing to be concerned about.

Chippy out there.

Hudson Rogers is embarrassing. Should get that clip going viral [emoji38]

Don't think Newcastle have played well, but the goal was good. Red card turned the tide.

Need to continue to dominate possession, get off Trippier (on a yellow), use the width of the pitch and just exhaust the bastids.  Murphy is a bit of passenger in this game.

Clearly a lot of tension developing between these two sets of players.. interesting rivalry for future fixtures. One for Howe to look at, as they seemed to be trying to man mark Bruno out of possession.

Great half, unlucky its not two. Great save from Sandro and good last ditch headers from crosses than were unmarked Bruno bound. Absolutely brilliant from Gordon, we're so lucky to have him.

Red card every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Keep it up and get all three points. Scoreline doesn't matter.
