Manchester United vs. Newcastle United: 30/12/24 @ 20:00 (Live on Sky Sports)

The best thing about ManU is that they will really struggle to shift some (many) of their players considering the contracts they’re on. I also wonder what quality/hungry player with any sense would go there now unless it’s for the money alone.

There’s been quite a few in recent years, Mason Mount was 60mil?

£55m, but Mount is a good player. He's just unlucky. Obviously you can say he's as bad a signing as the others if he just doesn't play, but he's a far better player than Antony with a far better attitude than Sancho. The guy is just made of glass.

Long may Midchester United continue!

Over here I never see any Man U fans unless it's a cup final. Completely invisible unless it's a big occasion. A few lean years and all the glory hunters will convert to some other team.

£80m and £200k a week? He's the worst by a mile IMO.

You were very excited about Antony for a while. Not a dig because I do get it. He looked tasty at Ajax. What do you think happened to him? Do you think he’d find his feet at another club? Maybe a different country with a different style of play?

Was I? I'm not sure I was. I hated how much we paid, and while I praised his energy and work rate, I noticed fairly quickly that he was proper shite.

He might do OK in a different country where the standard is much worse.

Smacks of a Primark version of Ziyech.

Are Man U in danger of doing a Sunderland? I know the circumstances are different but they have similar issues. Batshit crazy amount of overrated players on overinflated contracts that nobody wants, and don’t have a model to work to when it comes to bringing players through. Not saying they’ll get relegated but it could mean some time in the wilderness until they manage to sort out their issues. Throwing money after amazing managers without being able to give them the tools to do their job…..

there is still the ManU badge though so clubs in Saudi etc will look at the players ‘because Man Utd’

The thing that worries me is everything points to us dominating but we’ve fluffed our chances in games like this so many times before. Tonali is the one for me that really helps us in this situation, he’ll run the midfield.

Feels too good going into this [emoji38] If we show up it’s a win without doubt. (Please show up). We should be dominating the midfield.

Yeah totally, all over the pitch we give them nightmares. Gordon and Isak but even Murphy will cause them all sorts of problems and then they have to pick up Bruno and the marauding Joelinton while Tonali runs the show. It should be comfortable.

We’ll find a way to lose, we always play the occasion at OT no matter how bad Man U are (same at Anfield).

We have to get at them and don’t let them settle into the match. Avoid early yellow cards and we should be able to control midfield. Let’s imagine we’re playing at Portman Rd again. Approach it like we did at Everton away and we’ll concede at least one.

It should! 🤞🏻

Then press seems to be prepping for a Man U loss here, even their manager is talking about how the stadium will be full of fear every time we get the ball anywhere near their goal. Don't like this at all, feels like we are being set up for an upset of some sort despite their squad having cost far far more than ours.
