don't think the subs were the issue today at all really. We were set up badly from the start. Wingers were defending as second full backs so we couldn't press and that never really changed. Just forced us to defend deep all game and allowed Fulham easy possession.

We're we forced? Felt like a tactical choice to me. We opted to sit off them and got punished.

We were too open, we didn't keep possession at all, and in possession it was all too hurried. Still think we should have got more from the game, hitting bar twice and Willock missing the ball completely.

We have to learn to shut games down, control possession and not let team get into the games, we do that far too often, let teams get at us.

And we desperately need to freshen the squad with a player or two, not that the shitty bent rules will let us.

Thing that's bothered me for a while is that we rarely can keep controlled possession. It's always bang it up there at the first opportunity. Even when the forward is outnumbered. Never just move the ball forward and start probing for openings. Just first time ball or a touch and then a speculative pass. When they come off we're dangerous but more often they don't and we're a team that's quite easy to play on the transition against. Even with Tonali, he can't defend the midfield on his own (nor should he have to).

Another thing, EH doesn't seem to make changes when things are going wrong or we're starting to fall off a bit. He waits until it's gone completely wrong and all momentum is with the opposition e.g. scoring. I'm sure there's clear reasons but I wonder what it would look like if he was more proactive and less reactive.

Anyway, Fulham were the better team today. Marco Silva is a very good coach who has got a small club punching way above their weight. Hopefully we'll be better against Arsenal.

that's what I mean. Forced by a tactical decision we made to not press with our wingers.

Could have done with less there today after hearing so much moaning and groaning all afternoon.

Is so so bad now. No one sings, no one supports just reacts. Corner tried their best but didn't seem anyone else was interested. Performance wasn't great but you should still support. Anyone not clapping the team off at the end can fuck right off.

Weak. No ability to keep the ball and slow the game down when they started the second half brighter. Just fake an injury ffs! Buy time and then proactively make changes if it doesn't improve.

Somewhat unlucky to not get a second, but ultimately architects of our own demise. Failed to impose ourselves second half and got what was coming.

Agree with all except the need for transfers. We have more than enough in the squad to match Bournemouth and Fulham but couldn't on the day. Sport innit.

IMO the ballot has ruined the home atmospheres.

I'm slightly biased as I've won 0/13 ballots I've entered. I don't even bother anymore.

Dismal, dismal refereeing cost us there.

Wrong. It was the team that cost us. We've got a far better team than Fulham but they dominated the second half and just about deserved the win. If Tonali's screamer had have went in I think it would have been a comfortable victory.

A draw would have been a fair result considering Fulhams second half performance. A jammy deflected goal, a shockingly bad winner and the crossbar ultimately cost us.

Not the ref though.

We'll struggle to get any European football, never mind Champions league with such inconsistency.

The other teams outside of the current top 3 are just as inconsistent tbf. Even City.

On the transfers, i just mean in general, we need those players that give the squad a lift, it pushes players to perform. Having a stale squad doesn't, and i think that's where are now, a stale squad, still playing OK, but in serious need of a freshen up.

It has but there at 30k season ticket holders. Lower gallowgate makes no noise and the noise from the corner doesn't spread. It's just all super negative, being back 22/23 when people had hope and droge the team forward

I'm not convinced EH would use a squad much. He had options today and there's been players who've looked like they could do with a game or two out but it's the same 11 again.
