Manchester City vs. Newcastle United: 15/02/25 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)

Recommended Posts

These are fucking shit let’s be honest. Dangerous on attack with KDB / Foden / Haaland, but they literally have no legs in CM, CBs made out of tissue and a two GKs that are either erratic / shit.

We can’t go into the game treating them with respect like they’re going for title. They’re a wounded animal, on a downward spiral and we must smell blood.

Edit: Sort of game where it will be a test for me to see if our mentality has improved and if we feel we can win these games, and win it comfortably. Because it’ll help for cup final.

Best way is to make it an unstructured game - make them run - man mark - then use our pace and power to hurt them

Whilst I'm inclined to agree I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if Krafth pulled out a worldie against him.

I thought Krafth was great on Saturday. Just a bit weak in the air, as is Schar. Need the height and physicality of Botman or Burn.

You lot must be expecting to win on Saturday.

But you shouldn't get confident till City are two goals up with 20 minutes left.

You haven’t really lost many at home tbf. Off the top of my head I can only think of Man Utd, which was a travesty of a result, and Spurs, where you were struggling really badly.

Big Jam seemed to do alright against Haaland, strap his knee in and lets go!

I also don't see how the TV schedules managed to get this as a 3pm Saturday game this weekend

I still find Man City a hard club to dislike, even with all their trophies (probably because it clearly fucks off their less pleasant red neighbours).

Always felt like a naturally 'big club' with a working class support base who'd been shat on for decades by incompetent owners.

I want us to win, obviously - but whenever these have won trophies it has been met by a shrug by me - which is as close as I'll ever get to be congratulatory to another club winning things.

Same here. I used to work with a fella who was living up here and he was a proper Mancunian who absolutely despised Man U, probably through always feeling like the other club because Man U won a lot of worldwide support through the Munich tragedy. This is back in the days when City were less successful than us, but he grew up there and he supported City because it was local to the side of Manchester he was from. As opposed to Man U whose support ranges from Burnley to Tunbridge Wells.

They are a fragile side right now, but they can still put a couple of goals against us. That said I would be very disappointed if we dont give them a real fight here.

Years of being a Newcastle fan has taught me to never be confident. Even if things are slightly different now with Howe in charge.

Just because the Etihad is such a graveyard for us I can't help but feel we'll be the better team but will somehow come out on the end of a narrow defeat.

Same. It does feel like Howe has exercised some demons and got rid of some shitty, unwanted records. But the City away one hasn’t looked like changing. Yet……

Always find this interest in records quite funny, when it basically means 'hasn't beaten the best team in the world on their home ground'. Not many people have.

Nah. I think there are some that go way beyond that.

The Old Trafford one. They were crap for ages and had spells where plenty were beating them. Yet we never did.

The Emirates record was atrocious. Wasn’t it something like 41-7 from all the games there since we won 1-0 under Hughton?

The City one is equally as bad. Of course you don’t expect much. But in the league it has been generally us getting dry bummed for the last however long and have we not scored there since when? 2018 did someone say?! We haven’t won there since 2000 in the league.

Botman and Burn a doubt, probs Krafth and Schar

Not good. Thought this would be the right game for Botman. But not a chance we risk him if there are any doubts after so long out.
