OverThere
Maybe the 5 at the back formation for this one.

CallumG6
So who’s taking one for the team and absolutely flattening the Egyptian?

SweMag
I wouldn’t mind a 5-2-3 with Krafth, Schär and Burn as centre-backs and Osula on the right wing.

Ginola14
I think rather than wishing injuries on their players we should just wish none of our players get injured
TBG
What would be an embarrassing score line against these lot? 2-0? 3-0?
Ginola14
I've come round to the idea of this being a free hit play a different formation and try to surprise them in some way important to keep the goal difference respectable, no silly bookings and no injuries
SiLvOR
Do wonder if Eddie will try something completely different, to then mix it up again for the final. Whatever happens, I just hope we get in their faces and make it difficult. None of this rolling over shit we do for Man City.
alexf
I really don't know if that 5 at the back formation is a good idea. It worked against Arsenal because they were fairly toothless upfront and we had a 2 goal lead to defend. But alot of the time it felt like some players didn't quite know where to position themselves and in possession we were pretty poor apart from the few successful counters we had thanks to Gordon's pressing. But we still gave up good chances and Liverpool are way more clinical. Happy to be proved wrong but think if we set up that way in the final we would be picked off easily and would lose with a whimper.
Crimson Cardigan
I’d be tempted to just put everything into stopping Salah, double up on him absolutely every time he gets near our goal. The vast majority of goal/assist threat comes from him, none of the others are anywhere near his numbers, so we take our chances with them getting a bit more space. Gordon is going to have to work like a dog. And then we know Isak can hurt VVD.
Theregulars
I consider that we should both get into them and fuck them up.
Vaj
I am at a loss with this one for what tactics I would do, do we throw Botman straight back in? 5 at the back? Or just the usual? Think I would prefer to have Botman on the bench to bring on to help see out a plucky 1-0 win () and save him for the Brighton game: Pope Tino - Schar - Burn - Hall Miley - Tonali - Bruno Murphy - Isak - Gordon Starting Willock LCM against Salah/TAA/whoever plays RCM whilst they are attacking would not work, we need the LCM to put some serious graft in, so Bruno is the best option for me in Joelinton's (likely) absence from at least the starting eleven. I think we need to sit in and try and counter attack them. It would never happen but would genuinely love to see Osula start on the RW just to give us an unpredictability on the attack, and that would give us some serious pace on the counter. Tsunami
Stick Vlad on for the last couple of minutes at LB back and get him to put Salah out for 5 weeks. Something like a metatarsal, nowt serious as that’s not right like…. Can you imagine the uproar.
buzza
Just for the fact that they have pretty decent pace I would get Botman back in for this one: ---------------Dubs------------------ Tino----Schar-----Botman-----Hall --Bruno-----Tonali--------Willock Murphy------Isak---------Gordon If we are at the races we can do this lot. Get a two goal lead and then bring on Burn and turn it into a 5-2-
buzza
Willock´s pace can help with double tagging Salah, and botman as back up is no slouch
SUPERTOON
Changed my mind on this one, I think we will give them a good game. Still think we will lose, but it will be close imo.

So to counter one of the best attacking right backs in world football and a flying winger who can't stop scoring and assisting. We're going with one of the slowest midfielders in the league to help out on that side? I know Bruno covers a lot of ground. But imagine him running after Salah for 90 minutes
Smal
think this is the game where Van Dijk starts to consider his retirement from the game. 0-3 Isak hatty.

Smal
I think a back 5 approach is arguably the best way to go really. You get the left wing back on Salah with the left-sided centre back to back him up when he inevitably gets past him, and you also get less defensive responsibility on Gordon, who you just want to be running at Trent at every opportunity with Hall backing him up.
