Anyone from early pots had access. You’ll be surprised with families of people waiting. Hence why there were a few returns in the final week and some people getting luck last minute calls. Not disagreeing it (multiple devices) happens but far less than you’d imagine and like I said Pot 6 would’ve been the ones who abused the devices the most. I'd be amazed if anyone from one of the low pots waited for the slight chance of it going as far as pot 6 mind. I certainly don't know anyone who was daft enough. Geordie Magpie Posted Sunday at 20:27 Share Posted Sunday at 20:27 Great North Road closed most of day 29th, have a feeling there will be a bus parade from there through past SJP ending about 6pm on the Moor which is the expected arrival time of the players. Be a bit of a chew on watching the parade and heading down to town moor to catch the ending of it up there so probably be one or other for fans. Would like to do both but probs only do parade if defo one of some sort as don't fancy standing in a cows field for hours on end sober!
TBG Posted Sunday at 20:30 Share Posted Sunday at 20:30 They said during half time at the women's game that there's a couple of things waiting to be "rubber stamped" before announcing. Must be two more DJ's at the Town Moor

STM Posted Sunday at 20:47 Share Posted Sunday at 20:47 I think Kevin Keegan being there and handing over the trophy to Eddie and the boys would make me insta-spunk. In fact the one thing missing from this cup win is Kevin Keegan. Has he even commented on it?

Whitley mag Posted Sunday at 20:48 Share Posted Sunday at 20:48 Still 81,657 left for the bash on the Moor according to the website, not sure what the figure started at.

Think it was 500,000 As there were people showing figures of 450,000 left after they'd booked their tickets. Surely there's not 420k people going. They've probably been sensible enough to check the weather - wet and windy. 3 hours potentially hundreds of yards away from a stage, not able to sit down, struggling to find a clean toilet and no beer to enjoy. mighty__mag Posted yesterday at 00:30 Share Posted yesterday at 00:30 I'd didn't register interest, does it matter, or was it just to gauge numbers.

Such a thoroughly decent, honest, open man, full of integrity. It will be an emotional day anyway but if Kevin was to show up I know I'd be instantly turned into a blubbering mess. Chicken Dancer Posted yesterday at 13:12 Share Posted yesterday at 13:12 The club could have quite easily made a fortune serving alcohol like. Obviously it's not the primary purpose of the day (getting lashed) but they'd have made a killing hoying a few bars up and made it like a mini-festival sort of thing. Get a load of local food trucks in (Brack, Acropolis etc) and let them rake it in too. Probably are doing that anyway, but aye they're missing a trick making it dry. If it's on the advice or a condition from the police then surely even they don't expect trouble? Ana mass gatherings attract a mass amount of knackers, but it's not going to be tribal or that given everyone there is celebrating NUFC - it's not as if it's mixed fanbases. Even let people buy a maximum number of beer tokens on the website and let them be the currency for booze on the day. 4 drinks pp or something, I don't know. Ideally you could take your own in but that's just going to make an almighty mess.
Stal Posted yesterday at 13:13 Share Posted yesterday at 13:13 Gotta say, I have literally zero interest in DJs playing on the Town Moor. I wasn't particularly fussed when I saw our last open top parade and Alan Robson was doing the comparing. Have a pint or two, go out and wave at the bus full of the team and the cup, feel part of the community, share camaraderie, have more pints, job done. If I want to go see a music festival I'll nip to South Shields in the summer.

Geordie Ahmed Posted yesterday at 13:26 Share Posted yesterday at 13:26 A lot of waffle to say we have stopped it but the backlash means we are trying to make it happen I find it strange how other clubs manage to hold parades yet we are still trying to work it out

I'm sure our parade next season hoisting the Europa will be a parade on the Tyne ala Tampa Bay 2021 (check it out, class) followed by a mint party in Exhibition Park with free drink for everyone!
