Newcastle United vs. Manchester United: 13/04/25 @ 16:30 (Sky Sports)

Cannot go to this as my mate is having a birthday party. She’s a lass so no consideration for the football sadly.

It seems like Howe absolutely loves getting one over these. Can see us coming out of the traps fucking flying, akin to that game when we beat them 2-0 just after the cup final.

"I cannot explain my irrational hatred of Newcastle. I'm glad they beat Liverpool, but if they as a club were to cease to exist, I wouldn't miss them"

Likewise, son, likewise.

Except, oh wait, I can explain why I feel like that. As can everyone else

Their Bruno might get into out team, he would be arguably our 3rd best CM. I hate people that based him being good on stats, Jacob Murphy has great stats, but most of us can see, that's one of the positions we need to upgrade this summer. Being high in chance creation isn't that big of a deal when you take every single set piece for a team that gets quite a few set pieces, all someone has to do is win the header and it's considered a chance in the stats.

Nah Fernandes is class, like. But agree about him not fitting in our side better than the current 3.

Not saying he isn’t more talented or whatever, I just wouldn’t swap any of them for him in our side. He’s one of them cunts you probably love when he’s yours too.

“[The Telegraph] André Onana is at risk of being dropped for Manchester United’s Premier League match at Newcastle United on Sunday in the wake of his latest error-strewn display“

Worrying news.

Bruno Fernandes would be our best midfielder and would fit seamlessly into our side, to suggest anything else just isn’t accurate I’m afraid.

Hes carried that team for at least 3-4 seasons now.

Well, he's different innit. He's a class player but very different to Bruno or Tonali.

FWIW It's excellent that we're discussing how good Manchester's one good player is.

I’ve a weird feeling Man Utd will beat us. They are much better than many give them credit for and we aren’t playing that well ourselves. Probably wasn’t helped seeing just the one magpie today!

Our performances definitely improve against the "bigger" clubs though. Would expect an improved performance from the lads with it being Manchester Reds & the dangle of UCL football.

I get the jitters but they were awful against Lyon.

Seems to be forgetting we will (hopefully) be recruiting a few quality players ourselves .   Just concentrate on getting ahead of Brentford and Palace again you silly cunt

The game against us is relatively meaningless for them. A loss or a win may see them lose or gain a place or two at the end of the season, and 3-6 million quid (or whatever the money per placing is).

However, failure to progress on Thursday, will see them miss out on relative fortune, no European football, a pretty big impact on their PSR moving forward, a major impact on the number of signings, and not being able to sign the level of quality in players they need.

I maybe wrong, but, I would be gobsmacked if the likes of Fernandez (he is the key to their play) starts on Sunday. Maybe Garnacho also, with Mount playing in his place. I think the likes of Shaw, Mainoo, Eriksen and Lindlehof will probably start also.

I can't see their manager risking an injury to his key first team players, when there is so much on the line. What I have seen their support are generally wanting this also. Time will tell though

Yeah, they’re clearly improving under Amorim but being held back by some of the pure shit they’ve got.

I still think we’ll win. We’ve probably got to.

They’ll be allowed to blow £200m+ again with no punishment.

Also completely ignores their recent transfer record which has been patchy to say the least.  The way PSR has tilted the field in the favour of clubs like them means they will make a couple of expensive signings for sure. That they'll be "quality" of that I'm far less sure.

Our transfer record since the takeover has to be one of if not the best in the Premier League. So I'd favour us to buy the players we need to improve over them.

Who were their last 3 quality signings? One of them will be Fernandes and he was signed 5 years ago. Who and when were the other two?

Fernandes was 19/20 season. Could argue Dalot has been ok, but not stellar, and he joined 18/19 season. Mata in 13/14? No arguments on Van Persie in 12/13. Zlatan came in and did a job round about the mid 2010s.
