VAR simply measure the noise, and if the noise is loud enough, they recommend a review.

Is there a more unlikeable set of players than Chelsea? What a set of utter cunts.

 

Thought the 5 at the back or whatever you want to call it worked well against 11. It’s anything but a defensive formation really and I suspect we will play it again next week unless Joe recovers. Once they went down to 10 I don’t think we knew whether to stick or twist and it was a bit messy. They played it well to be fair but without a centre forward it was rarely more than half chances. Burn was magnificent, easily man of the match for me.

 

I thought we missed Trippier, not just because it would have saved us from 10 minutes of Murphy as a right back but he would have calmed everyone the fuck down in that second half. The front 3 were decent first half but hopeless in the second, it would have been useful to have a Willock type to freshen that up but nevermind.

These extremely faint pushes in the back when a player is facing his own goal shielding the ball are almost always given but when it’s an attacker that is full sprint into the opposition box they’re ignored. Utter woke nonsense.

He's always namechecked by teammates as being one of the best at one-on-ones we have, so I was always confident when he found himself in such situations.

He came on right after Murphy got rinsed on that side too. Think that change was perfect.

What was he booked for? I just went back and watched it again, and during the initial foul (on us from which Bruno scored) he was miles away in our half. The camera never showed the melee or whatever went on, just the ref then getting the card out.

That second half was odd, I'm not sure what was going on. Can only think we looked to defend against a toothless ten and hit them on the break, but our break was piss poor. So they just kept coming back. Meekly.

If we’re doing most of attacking, Murphy is a good enough back up RB for me. He’s defensive actions then are more tracking back. When we’re sitting deep, he’s not a good RB because you have to be alert at all times and not ball watching, which he does do on occasions. 
 

Having two experienced CBs helped a lot, as they knew to anticipate someone like Murphy to have a lapse in concentration as it’s not his strength.

Eddie explained it pretty well. We had everything to lose and Chelsea had everything to win, so the nerves got to us.
